Or, we can just assume that everyone in the forum knows that they can price match on Kobo and will do so if they wish to. We don't need every single link to a Kindle book to be duplicated with a Kobo post do we?

Not sure about that. I've gotten a couple of PMs when I've posted about a book available on Kobo telling me that I should have included an Amazon link. My response has generally been that I purchase more books from Kobo and don't really care about Amazon which received the response that I should care about Amazon since they have the best books and best prices and I should care about Amazon.

My reaction has been to become less interested in posting links to book bargains. After all, anyone who is interested can browse BookBub, BookGorilla, EReaderIQ, etc. for themselves.

OTOH, those posts were definitely annoying.

It is a slippery slope. Do we post links to Barnes and Noble, Apple, and perhaps independent sellers as well? I try, but I think if someone doesn't, it's not the worst assumption that people will go to their preferred seller to see if it's also on sale there. It isn't a good use of posting space for someone to add those links in additional messages.

I think the moderators have posted that members that post about a deal are not to be harrassed about which stores they do or don't link to.

You could always post zero links and force people to find the book on their own. Any kind of sale notification is appreciated.

I agree it makes no sense. They quote this parts of the terms and conditions (link at bottom of page)

The product’s price must not be lower due to an advertising error; misprint; combination promotion (e.g., gift with purchase); after-sale rebate offer; or preferred-customer, or other similar discount.

"or other similar discount" is read to cover all discounts rather than things like the examples listed earlier in the sentence.

I can only find the $0.75 price on Amazon. The "digital list price" is $17.99, and the red discount percentage next to the price on the Amazon page mentions the real "digital list price".
I asked to cancel the purchase (I didn't download the book yet).

BTW, before it was $0.75, it was $9.99, rather than $17.99 (ereaderiq).
