It doesn't. Because it contains aspartame instead of sugar. You probably don't like the taste of diet coke because you don't like the taste of aspartame. Coke zero tastes slightly different than diet coke, but I can't explain how or why.

To my taste buds, they are the same. I've even done a blind test, and I couldn't identify which was which. (But I can easily distinguish Coke from Pepsi, Diet Coke and Pepsi Max.)

It costs you three times as much? That's ridiculous! It costs exactly the same here in the UK, but it really ought to cost less, since it doesn't include all that (relatively) expensive sugar.

Coke Zero is a lot less sweet than Diet Coke which was formulated to be a lot sweeter than Coke Classic, while Coke Zero is intended to be as close as possible to Coke Classic.

I'll have to try it, even if it is 3 times as much, I'd like to cut the sugar out.

A lot of things like that are more expensive, a lot of things with "Sugar free" or "Diet" on the label, anything with "New" also costs more. My favorite things from Canada that I can get here always cost more. A bottle of Maple Syrup, which despite being Canadian i still hate it, costs more than the average days wage. Ridiculous really.

I can certainly distuingish between normal coke and coke zero. I think it's because I've been drinking aspertame in all my drinks for so long now, that 'normal' sugar just tastes funny to me.

I've always heard Coca Cola came up with coke zero for males. Apparently males are more inclined to drink coke zero because it doesn't say 'light' or 'diet'. It's a marketing thing (duh).

But you're right: coke zero contains only half as much aspartame and more ace-k as diet coke.

Water in a flask

The first pot is caffeinated but the second pot is not. The rinses after 30 seconds are removing a decent amount of the caffeine in the tea you are drinking.

Caffeine is the one that I have read about and so I am happy to share that info. I would guess that other nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and anti oxidants are mainly found in the first steeping as well.
