CLI?

So I am pretty new to Kobo hacking. I setup a reader menu entry for toggling dark mode. The thing is that I am usually always enabling darkmode during the night and disabling it in the morning. Now I am looking for a way to do this programatically. I have been thinking about setting up a udev hook and write a small script to enable/disable dark mode based on time of day, but I can't figure out a way to do it from the terminal. I know NickelDBus exists, but it doesn't appear to have support for the newer firmware darkmode, only for invert, which does nothing on my Libra 2. Anybody got an idea how to achieve this? |

Natore, you wrote "invert, which does nothing on my Libra 2." Invert mode works just fine, inverting the entire display, including the user interface and pictures. I use it all the time on my Libra 2, Clara HD, and Clara 2E. Both invert mode and dark mode are available on all those devices and can be used in any combination. |

Hello, we have two Kobo at home with NickelMenu. On my Kobo, when I activate the Dark mode for example, I have a popup that display "dark mode enabled" or "dark mode disabled". On my daughter's kobo, there is not this popup. How can I activate this popup on her Kobo ? Thank you |

Do your Nickel Menu lines look like this? They should: Code: menu_item :main :Dark Mode :nickel_setting :toggle :dark_mode chain_success :power :reboot Code: menu_item :reader :Dark Mode :nickel_setting :toggle :dark_mode chain_success :power :reboot |

Idon't think you need to reboot when you toggle dark mode. I just exit and re-enter the book. I am on an older firmware.

I'm considering switching to NickelMenu from KSM for my Kobo Aura One since development has stopped on that and I have now encountered problems likely related to that. Is there a way to make NickelMenu auto-start KOReader like I managed to do with KSM?

https://github.com/koreader/koreader...n-Kobo-devices One important advantage of launching KOreader directly with NM is that it survives over firmware updates. Last edited by ps67; 11-14-2022 at 05:59 PM.

But it doesn't autostart KoReader, as it goes first to nickel, then you have to start KoReader. Maybe, I don't use NickelMenu, there's an option for autostarting some things?

And for the record, I haven't updated the firmware at all since I originally installed KOReader, I only update KOReader itself.

For those using KSM to auto start KOReader, do you know how to stop the auto start process to get back tho Nickel?
