Kitties! That looks like bed cuddles! I should take a bed cuddle photo, but Mr M gets right in my face, you would just see a wet snout and whiskers.

and just in case anyone is confused... they really aren't ponies. CJ is the smallest and 15.6 hands, Thyme next and she is almost 17 hands and Dan is 17/2 or 3 I think. they are big ponies

At one stage, we had a horse, three dogs, two cats, a rabbit and two guineapigs. That was when the kids were young.

One of our guineapigs was a serial killer (as well as a cereal killer). We had to replace his partner several times. And I thought they were cute and harmless!

More recently, we've lost several beloved friends. Our black labrador died a couple of years ago, and is still sorely missed. We still have our yellow lab. Of our three rescue cats, the eldest died at a very advanced age, the second was run over and left to die , and the third is still with us.

So we brought home a pair of sibling kittens from the local shelter.

From top to bottom (my daughter's Flickr): Mallee (yellow lab), Smudge (white fluffy cat), Fred and Ginger.

I take it that Tucker doesn't go out in the winter time.

That or you have to use a dryer when he comes in.

Thanks very much for the appreciation.

My teenage daughter took the pictures. She takes her photography pretty seriously. Her camera is a Canon 450D, and those pictures were taken with the EF-S 55-250mm lens. You can see more of her photos on her Flickr page.

(I'm lucky to have an embryonic camera artist on hand: my photos always look like they were taken in another dimension by someone adversely affected by controlled substances ... and not even enjoying the experience. )

heh. i've got a box like that under the table right now. i don't know why i bother to actually pay for toys ; they boxes they ship them in are soooo much more exciting.

teehee. scary.

okay, here are mine.

it's not easy to get a good photo of bast, because she's black and absorbs all light. but here is one of her resting up so she can make an unholy racket at 4 in the morning.

little bug also makes sure to get plenty of sleep (during the day). you can see, in the background, the featureless black splotch which is how most photos of bast look :

it's easier to get photos of little bug when she's asleep, but sometimes she wakes up when i'm trying to take her photo and then this happens :

but sometimes she's awake and not bouncing off the walls. guests have to fight her for that chair. they usually win, because they're much bigger and have opposable thumbs, but then she sits nearby and gives them dirty looks, or just stares at them without blinking. at all. if the background you can see some of those toys i (pointlessly) paid good money for just so somebody would send me a giant cardboard box and some packing paper.

well, i only have 2 rooms, and in the other one there is the bed and the dirty clothes hamper which both make very tempting sleeping places for cats, so i decided i could skip the box in there. i tried covering up the chairs for a while but then one day i had guests and took off the covers and when they left, the *second* the chairs were empty the cats were on them and before i even closed the door they had deposited fur evenly across the entire surface, so i just decided there was no point, and i'll just vacuum them regularly.
