1) Yes, good idea
2) The annotation feature will be totally revamped and work a lot like you suggest very soon.

I think if you give publicity to these features you will pick up sales amongst academics, students, translators et al who want to work with an ergonomic device whilst away from the desk (like in a cafe).

If you want to send me the specs for the notes feature I'd be happy to comment.
