There’s a photo of the black flex neck on the bigger and brighter site being used on the Sony Reader. Is this what we’ve been waiting for?

I've been waiting for something like this, but I've just sprung for the rechargeable, even though more expensive. I note that all of their battery-operated lights give a life of 30 hours. Even if this is not an optimistic estimate (like Sony's laughable 7500 page turns), and if I read only three hours a day (and I read a lot more), those batteries would only be good for 10 days or less. I'd probably end up paying a lot more for batteries in just a few months than I will for the recharrgeable light. I'll let you know how I like it when I get it. |

I have the non-black version of it, and it's ghastly. If throwing a blue light over your book (and subsequently turning the page blue) is your thing, go right ahead. I can't believe Lightwedge made us all excited for this.

Now this was a real letdown........ KlondeikJeoff, please let us know how you like the rechargeable. I was looking at the one as well, dual purpose (book and fish light, LOL).. I mainly read during the day but there have been times when having a light at night would be nice. I already have something similart that is a gooseneck although it's much shorter |

I just wrote to them and told them how disapointed I was with this offering something they already had and something that doesn't really work that well and that I was hoping for something more along the lines of the wedgelight.

It only covers half the page and have to adjust the light to cover the bottom half when get there. This is not insurmountable, but still a pain in the neck and should not be necessary. The best I can say is that it is better than nothing, but not worth the price. Mine worked right away without charging. I read in the landscape mode, so clipped it to the top where the cover is folded over. It stayed on very well, but when I pulled it off, the combination battery cover/clip came right off. One is supposed to slide it back on so it snaps in place, but no matter how hard I tried, it would not close all the way. A little protruding tab on the top would not fit into its slot. If I raised one end and fitted it in, then the other end would not snap shut. Bummer! Called and the woman I spoke with went and got one, and that one closed with no trouble, so she told me to send it back. I asked for a refund, but doubt whether will get it; expect them just to send another one. Soooo, don't waste your money on this one. I'll just continue to read under high-intensity lamps. Trouble is, when have to read in a doctor's office or airport, the cost is prohibitive for the extension cord.

Do return it. I hate to see people get screwed for something they pay for and it not work in the manner that it is made to......
