I know here in the US we have a few places that specialize in importing gadgets not released in our market, like stuff from Japan. Do you guys in Europe know of any similar places. Dynamism, Lik-sang (now closed
![]() Only other option is like people said, buying on eBay/other person-to-person site. Now the Reader is a high-enough price item that you could probably get someone to accept an escrow service as long as you were willing to pay the fee. You pay the escrow service the money, they ship the item, you release the money once you receive it, escrow service pays the seller. Higher end goods like laptops are sometimes sold this way. Usually if you just look at feedback ratings, you can get an idea, people with higher ratings are usually pretty trustworthy, especially if they often deal in big ticket items for hundreds of dollars apiece. It seems www.bhphotovideo.com accepts international orders, or at least according to their website they do, and they have the Reader in their catalog. There is some hassle as you have to upload a scan of your credit card to their server, but It might be worth a try. I almost ordered one, but then I went for the Iliad instead.
Good luck! |

This is a great option, certainly much better than getting one on E-bay. I've ordered one along with a leather case. It will be arriving tomorrow according to the shipping info on UPS. |

Sure with I'd known that before I bought mine
![]() Don't forget that, if you buy from the US, you'll probably have to pay a fair bit extra in import duties, VAT (if you're in Europe), etc. What generally happens is that the courier pays these on your behalf, and then bills you for it, plus a hefty "processing fee". I had to pay the equivalent of US$130 to the courier when my Reader arrived. |

Received my reader today (rural NSW, Australia). I can't remember the last time I was this happy with a new gadget.
Hint: create your e-books as PDF, page size 90mm x 120mm with minimal page margins. I used size 10 Georgia for the text. It loads great and looks great. |
