I've finished 20 books since the 1st of September. My goal for the upcoming new year is to hit 100 books.

I'm also in the 100+ books a year group on Goodreads. I just finished book # 94, so I think i will make it this year. Getting a Nook in July rocketed my reading up for the latter half of the year.

Congratulations Crusader. 100 books in one year is no mean feat.

I am an avid reader. I read whenever I am waiting on something, I constantly have a book with me. I used to conceal books on my person when I was a kid. I didn't keep direct track of my reading this year but I know I read over 200 books so far. I have 158 books on my NOOKColor right now, all of which I read this year. Additionally I read at least 50 books from January to April when I bought my NookClassic. Prior to my Nook it was hard to keep track as I tend to loan my books out as soon as I read them.

Next year I will try to organize myself so I can keep track.

Wow. 200 books! Now that is impressive.

For those who might be interested here's the list of books I completed.

I don't think I'll set myself a specific goal next year. I'm going to keep track of the books I read and see where I end up. With a set target I felt a bit forced towards the end.

Congrats Crusader. Now I want a one page essay on each one to test your reading comprehension.

In recent years I have generally managed in around 120 books a year, but this year has dropped back, I probably won't manage 80. But then few of this year's have been hard work, and there have been some other distractions.

My real problem is that my work is with computers, my hobbies include reading and some family history stuff (ie. on the computer). So I spent a lot of time sitting down. My challenge next year is to spend half-an-hour less time sitting on my butt each day - so that hopefully I will live long enough to read more books.

If I read 50 books in a year it would be a good year.

Reading comprehension wouldn't be a problem, my poor memory would. Generally I start to forget details of what I read about a week or two after doing so. The upside of that is that re-reading something is generally almost like reading it for the first time!

As for spending less time sitting down. You'll need to learn to read while walking. It can be done, but then quiet and unobstructed streets are required.
