Sorry kenny. I think your post might have gotten lost in the thread. I read your story and it was pretty powerful. I just didn't download the ePub to see if there was more to it.

**EDIT** Scrivener says its 600 words. I'm okay with the length of your story in context. I'm assuming Vision no longer holds the rights to it?

It's a short-short only 500 words or so, but I think in the same vein as some of Poe's work.

After reviewing a couple posts, I've decided to tweak the submissions for those that are longwinded or shortwinded

The new length is up to 10,000. No more. I think that 10k is more than enough room for a short story.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been in/out of hospitals and states the past month. I've checked my email and notifications regularly and have not received any updates from anyone involved yet. I wouldn't stress too much about starting late. =)

I'm sorry man, death in the family (3rd one in just over a year's time), sort of sent everything into a tailspin for me lately.

I'm up for the anthology, and I should have some new covers in the upcoming days, plus my stories as well. So don't get downhearted yet, if just three of us have to write every one of the stories, then we'll get it done

EDIT: I'm thinking of something along the lines of a Winston Smith collage for the cover, like below but Poe's head is hinged in the middle and a flow of words and photocopied images are streaming out as his head tilts backward, something like that

Oooh, or maybe A raven with Poe's head sits on the shoulder of a man with a Raven's head while they eat a bowl of strange words....surreal
