Sorry, I didn't express myself very clearly. What I meant was that today people carry around memory drives which you have to connect to a PC in order to transfer files to them. If you similarly have to connect the Que to a PC in order to transfer files to it, then it's really no less convenient. I very much doubt that the Que can act as a USB "Host", which would be required in order to be able to use memory sticks itself.

By the way, anyone else amused/perplexed they decided to call this thing the "what?"

Ereader manufacturers seem to have one hell of a blind spot when it comes to naming their devices!

But it's not the right type of USB slot for a USB thumb drive.

Perhaps in Spanish it means that. But in English queue is a line of something. So, you can queue up books/documents to read.

Of course, if they called it the Queue they couldn't trademark it.

BTW: Teleread recently has a post about the silly names of all the readers. After I read the post I shook my head at the time I wasted reading it. Google, Yahoo, Wii, Microsoft, Apple are all STUPID names too. But, we know what they are and what they refer to. Isn't that all that is important.

They say that the Que accepts e-pub.
Am I safe to assume that my Sony e-pub books will be compatible then?

I think it is a safe assumption. Since they support the B&N ebooks and the nook supports the Sony ePub store.

Sorry i meant USB OTG not a. OTG allows you to transfer files to a device from a USB drive. The Boox 60 is a USB OTG device but you need an adapter since its a mini USB port.

looking around the net adapters are about $3

Thanks.

This (non-3G) version could be very interesting.
Too soon to blow my wad on a pre-order though as I would like to know what the Wireless feature will allow me to do when I travel outside the US.

I am expecting to be leaving the US to work in Europe for a few years and am fancy a large screen system that will still have some utility in those countries, AND will let me read my 300+ Sony books.

Considering the Bluetooth/Blackberry connection, I'm not sure the lack of an SD card slot is that big a deal, considering the target market for these things. My Blackberry has 16GB on it. It looks like I can just shove things back and forth through the bluetooth connection. Why not? My BB talks to my laptop via bluetooth (though not for file transfer, darn it), so it's not that big a leap.

It's actually Pixel Qi (pixel chee). A new (not e-ink) color screen technology.

The vast, vast majority of USB controllers these days support host mode, even if they need to offload processing to the CPU to do so.

If they are targeting the business community I'm surprised there's no mention of the security capabilities on it. A lot of companies have requirements to encrypt everything now and are either disabling USB ports or requiring the UMS devices to be encrypted.
