Did it ask you to authorize to your Adobe ID? I know mine asked me if it could access my Digital Editions info in my keychain, but only when I click on the About menu item.

I have a number of left-justified LRF books - so I don't always see a ragged right as a sign of EPUB.

Well, the same book still would not be left aligned on one device and justified on the other.

There are two other signs of EPUB: page numbers on the right and extra space between first and second line which is result of automatic line height rules in CSS (if you want good-looking text with mixed font sizes always specify line-height using em units)

Yes.

Not that I know of. I don't see anything in the menu to Open Windows... what happens if you select something from the View menu, like Library?

Nothing whatsoever. I tried every unique menu option and the only ones that do anything are Hide and Quit..

I know you shouldn't have to do this on a Mac, but have you tried to restart it?

this is a big disappointment

I saw in another thread that full justification in EPUB depended on the EPUB file being set for full justification.

I'm not sure if that's true or not, just passing it on.

Nothing is going to change on the reader unless new the readers firmware is updated. The PC software doesn't affect how the ebook is viewed on the device.

PS: It's funny how I seem to recall a bit thread about people complaining about full justification on the readers and how lame it was and they only wanted left justification. I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Yes, ePub does not allow for user-configurable justification. (as configured with Adobe Digital Editions). However the file was set up, that's how it will display... As long as the device supports the formatting.

In the past, Sony's readers did not display fully justified ePubs properly. They would be displayed as ragged right. This is apparently fixed with the new update, BUT it will do nothing for ePubs that were never fully justified to begin with.

Bottom line: The vast majority of preexisting ePubs are still going to display ragged right on the Sony readers.

Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense.

I can understand the use for the right-side page numbers, but I really wish there was a way to suppress them.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but you said it so much more eloquently.

Most of my EPUBs are ragged right.
