It could work a little tilted (more than 45°) to work as I tested

I've been using the Kindle for more than a year, then got the Opus. I love it! I'm so glad I switched. Only two things I miss about the Kindle - you can sort based on most recent book read and when you turn it on, you're on page you stopped at (not the library). But these are minor things and I'm very satisfied with the Opus. I really like the folder support, which is the reason why I switched to Opus and gave up on the Kindle. I wish I could change the image of the folder thumbnail to something else. I'm ok without it though. I wrote an e-mail to bookeen support about it. |

That's not my experience. I generally hold my Opus at about 30 degrees to the vertical, and the accelerometer works just fine at that angle.

To correct an earlier error, I incorrectly said earlier in this thread that the Opus did not display "marginal" page numbers in an ePub file. It does, but they are very, very small and displayed in a very "light" font. They are so small that it took me several days to notice them! They really don't "interfere" with the text.

In my current eBook, the margin page numbers were slightly annoying, but now that I am over 100 pages, they are interfering with the text of the eBook. A workaround would be to tell (somehow) Calibre to not automatically justify the text. That would reduce the probability that there would be text in the area of the page numbers. | |

Are you sure that there is no CSS to apply, or other specific ADE file to remove this "feature"?

I haven't really looked into it. The GUI for Calibre is brain-damaged (needing a 32-bit USBLib to provide a useless - to me - feature), so my current eBooks are quickie command-line generated things.

You can get rid of the marginal numbers, but if you do, they'll disappear from the status line too, and you'll have absolutely no indication of how far through the book you are.

JSWolf: I doubt that having both firmware is the most difficult part for bookeen. I suspect they only need some compilation flags to have one or the other (or even both if the licence wasn't so much restrictive)

I've decided that I like ePub a lot. I just wish I could have ePub with a dictionary.
