In the advertisment they did not say that HTML files will more often than not crash your reader so it was a bit hard to make an informed decision. The reduction of battery time in later firmwares was also not advertised and you did not get the option to choose certain bug fixes but keep battery time when upgrading to a later firmware.

A modern, well-designed browser crashes extremely rarely. When it does, it's not generally due to bad HTML, but rather other associated features or plugins (javascript, flash or the like). Things were different in the earlier days, yes.

I expect it to read books in HTML. It crashes on them. It doesn't follow links, it doesn't display html images. If that was clearly indicated in feature list, I wouldn't blame Bookeen. They put together features list, they didn't clearly indicate what the device does, and what it won't do.

The way to tell is to look at the serial number on the back of the device. If it starts with "EB100" it's a 200MHz device; if it starts "EB600" it's the 400MHz. I'm pretty certain that yours is the 200MHz, Tommy.
