Squirrels are courting for support - we all know what this means: Cattraces on cars are not - and I repeat not - a random sign. Cats are scouting out for the big squirrel invasion!

Ok, true squirrel story. My Dad is an attorney and I have over the years worked for him occasionally. He's always been rather fond of squirrels and feeds them. Almost always he would get an office with a patio or some type of outside opening to indulge in his squirrel past time. In this one office he would leave the sliding door open a squirrel and a half width and the critters would come in and take nuts and other goodies from him. It actually worked pretty well for clients that were wound tighter than a top and ready to pop, you could see them visibly relax when either watching my Dad feed the fuzzies, or they would do it themselves.

Every once in awhile he would get a high profile case that would cause some scrutiny. Well this one April Fool's day when I was doing some research for him, I had come in to find that he had left with his slider open squirrel width, most everything was knocked off his desk, the trash can had been rummaged through, and every file on his credenza was open and or scattered onto the floor. I was pretty scared until I got around to the back of the desk and found that his 25 pound sack of nuts had been DECIMATED!!! There were shells and the papery stuff everywhere! Those squirrels had had a party and the message had gone out on the squirrel telegraph that rounded every little fuzz tail in the area up!

Wicked daughter that I was, I met my Dad at the outside entrance and told him his office had been ransacked (we were in the middle of a huge NRA case at the time). He turned pale, clutched his chest and took a step backward... I never pulled a similar *trick* on him again!

Well, but it *had* been ransacked!! Did you let him see it, before you cleaned it up? I imagine he'd have quite a laugh that his squirrel friends had had such a good time.

oh yes! after his color and breathing were back to normal (ie a good stiff drink!) he went and soundly cursed the squirrels up one side and down the other!
