You shouldn't need the .pbi installer again unless you factory reset the device.

I have my Calibre server setup via OPDS on the IOS app. If add my books to the library of the IOS app and have Pocketbook Cloud setup are these books going to sync to a Pocketbook device once I get one? They currently sync to my other IOS devices.

Is my assumption correct that this modification only necessary to be able to directly to the e-ink devices library directly?

If it is possible to mount the pocketbook reader as an USB device, is it enough to edit the device.cfg and device.cfg.gen files via the USB load and then reboot?

Or is it necessary to root the device and ssh in and edit the files that way?

Is the device.cfg.gen file only reachable from inside the device because it is a symlink to /mnt/secure which is only visible inside the device?

Anyone having experiences with the newer solution (the latest .pbi installer) by neil_swann80 from March 1 2024? Does that installer need rooting the device?

(I just wish to enable opds on three pocketbooks bought in June 2025 in the simplest manner possible. Google searches brought me to this thread)
