I can't wait for the Mobipocket support! (i.e., conversion to prc format)

Keep up your great work!

Hi

Calibre version 0.4.127 and it sees my Cybook (version 64 Mbytes) without a problem.

I can select the Cybook and it shows all the eBooks on it.
I can even open and eBook from it and read it in Calibre’s reader.

Best regards,

Calibre 0.4.127 on OSX. Can't 'send to device' (greyed out) but 'save to disk' works on my 512Mb Cybook - great stuff! Roll on MobiPocket output (conversion)...

Thanks, Pete.

I guess you mean upload instead of download (you download from the internet, you upload to your reader).

AFAIK the rss-feed out of Calibre is in 'sony-format'. I'm not surprised the Cybook doesn't swallow that
I guess you'll have to wait for the mobi-converter in Calibre to be able to do that.
Then again, I'm no part of the Calibre-development-team, so I could be wrong...:

I was downloading rss content and it crashed. Later, I tried predefined The Economist (whole magazine) - it successfully downloaded. But you are right - I can't upload it on my Cybook.
So, because I was on Windows machine, I used mobipocket instead. For me calibre is not working

Mobipocket support is currently being developped in parallel of the Cybook support in Calibre.
It should be available in the coming weeks.

Mobipocket support means being able to convert the ebooks to a format that is read by the Cybook.
Cybook support means detecting the Cybook, being able to send some files on the device and listing the ebooks currently on it.
Both are necessary for a complete support of the Cybook in Calibre.

(Anybody feel free to correct me if this is wrong)

@Gaurnim, 100% correct. I'm work on the the device support.

@kafka399, A fix for uploading the news to the device has been committed to the driver development branch. It should appear in trunk sometime soon. But like Gaurnim said, Calibre still doesn't full support mobi. So even though it can now send to the device it won't do you any good because the Cybook can't read the only two output formats available right now. Slowly the Cybook will be fully supported. Just keep posting what doesn't work correctly so it can I know what needs to be fixed.

Ok, thanks for yours effort.
I sent everything what you ask - now I'm waiting for the next steps on Linux/Ubuntu. The same Cybook is seen on Windows, but not on Ubuntu.

Subdirectory support has been committed to trunk and will be appearing in the next release. For those that asked it works by using the books tags. It takes the first tag that starts with / and use all subsequent /'s as a directory delimiter. For example: "/scifi/card/ender".

@kafka399, I'm still working on getting your Cybook supported under Linux. It's strange that hal is only picking up the card and not the main memory.

@mbovenka, can you run the following:

Code:
calibre-debug -c "import wmi;print reduce(lambda x,y:x+y, wmi.WMI().Win32_DiskDrive())"

Hm... is a good response. Try this:

Code:
calibre-debug -c "import wmi;print reduce(lambda x,y:repr(x)+repr(y), wmi.WMI().Win32_DiskDrive())"

Could you try running the windows_get_devices2.zip app I attached on page 4 wit the Cybook plugged in? I want to see the PNPDeviceIDs associated with your Cybook.
