That's the problem, my pc is no longer detecting my reader when I plug it in. But it shows that it is charging.

I suppose I could go in manually on the reader to delete some books which will be a PITA!

I am in the "about Kobo Libre H20 section and it says

Built in memory capacity 8GB
End user memory capacity 6.73GB

I only have 3.3 GB of space left!

And this is why I like having a SD card slot in things! Even if I buy a Clara I will immediately use up half of the storage. GRRRRRR

Android uses MTP, and macOS doesn't support it natively. You'd need to use OpenMTP to manage files directly (as directly as MTP allows) or use Calibre and its built-in MTP support.

It's a simple Windows utility.
It doesn't need an install. You just put it somewhere and run it.
If you plug in something it will add a green line, when you unplug something it adds a red line.
But if you plug in something that Windows doesn't recognize and for which it doesn't have a driver it won't log that.
In that case Windows should throw up a popup saying "Unknown device" or something.

I only see the error message the first time I plug a device in. I have to go in with a utility (my preferred one is USBDeview) and remove the entry for the bad device. I last ran into this with a cheap Thunderbolt 3 cable where a docking station failed about 2/3 of the time when connecting so I deleted the entry and tried again. I picked up a cheap brand name Thunderbolt 3 cable and the problem went away.

Just not to confuse @cfrizz, her device and it can be also her PC doesn't has Thunderbolt ports.

I see various post on web saying having the same issue within the original Kobo cable on usb 3.x ports, where using another port or having it repleaced with another cable worked fine.

Yeah, there are more advanced ways to look into this stuff.
Starting with Device Manager, "devmgmt.msc".
There are also many USB tree viewers, like UsbView.exe

There is my enumusb.exe which can list all instances of devices ever plugged into different USB ports.
It can also selectively "forget" USB devices, but that's more advanced usage and you may need to change some registry permissions.

And of course, like me, you may use a Total Phase Beagle 480 USB protocol analyzer.
But some people are too cheap to cough up the >$1000.

Hmm... USBDeview has the same list of devices recorded that have been plugged in. To forget devices, it's either run in administrator mode or allow one by one.

My USB analyzer is a cheap ($200 Cdn) device but it handles up to TB4, PD, etc. I would have loved to get one of the cheaper Teledyne units our facilities department used but just couldn't justify the cost for my home use. I don't have the need to diagnose many Thunderbolt connections.

Just to update, I reformatted my Kobo and started from scratch. It worked. I just reloaded with all of my favorite series and authors.

This is disappointing, this was my traveling device that held all of my books. Now I have to figure out how to make sure my Go 7 is protected enough for traveling with me.

Why do I have multiple ereaders? Because I've been using ereaders for a while? Because I can afford to update my toys? If I count reading on my computers back into the 1970s or Palm PDAs in the 90s, I could claim either 50 or 30 years of ereading—a text file on a CP/M machine qualifies as ereading, doesn't it?

For dedicated ereaders, I tried several units which I found disappointing until I purchased the original Kobo in June, 2010. Since then I've gone through quite a few different Kobo models mostly noted for increasing screen sizes as my eyesight ages. I have also owned several other brands of ereader and prefer the non-Android based units since they are basically for reading only. No distractions from stuff running in the background and longer battery life for similar battery sizes. I've still got my PW 5th gen (PW1) and PW 10th gen (PW4) kicking around but prefer to avoid Amazon's gulag. I have sold quite a few of my ereader collection over the years but most aren't worth the time it would take to sell them.

It just says E-Ink Carta, so I'm guessing it's pre-Carta 1200. 300 dpi. Good, clear screen with nice, uniform lighting. I've never seen an e-Reader with a Carta 1200 or 1300 screen, so I have nothing to compare it to. The battery is still strong.

I've seen ereaders with Carta screens of various generations. The new Carta screens have better contrast and generally faster speed. OTOH, unless you are using a densitometer to measure the reflectivity of the screen, most people would need to place a Carta 1000 and Carta 1300 screen side by side with the same content and same screen structure to be able to notice the difference.

Well, I'm pretty dense all by myself and I was pleasantly pleased with the difference between the Go6 and the Poke5.
