But every time people on this forum start talking about ereader weight being a priority, a number of people kick in about how people have no business discussing ereader weight or being concerned about ereader weight so long as the weight is less than a paper book.

It's tiresome (and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way). And I'm expressing that it's tiresome. You can have whatever emotion you like about that.

Consideration that other people may have different needs from you in an ereader should be core business in this sort of forum.

Or buttons, or Kindle Unlimited (or not), or screen size, or Android (or not), or kind of cover (or not) or any feature (audio, BT etc).

It's fair to mention a cover adds weight, or a 9"+ size is heavy, even though there are heavier printed books. Or an 8″ doesn't fit many pockets.

People shouldn't be mocked for finding something awkward.

No, but if you read from the start of the thread the "mocking" started from the coverless side to the covered... not that that makes a difference really as the back and forth was just silly banter.

I think everyone should relax a little and perhaps try to not take offence when none was intended.

Especially when I see posts like "I can't understand how people ...", or "I see no issue with " when referring to other people rather surprising. Especially when a topic has discussed over, and over, ...

Very true! I'm also often "away with the fairies" (as my nan used to say) and living in my head a little too much. Easy to lose track of time when visiting the dusty cloakroom that is my mind.

Like I said, go back and read the thread from the beginning. It was the coverless side that brought up weight and started the "mocking". It also seems like it's the coverless side that's taking this to heart. I'm really not sure why, it was just a little gentle ribbing and poking, no malice meant at all.

What I find tiresome is how easily offended people are these days, especially when offence wasn't intended. How about choosing to interpret comments favourably rather than unfavourably? Assuming playful teasing rather than insult?

No need to be killjoys either. If the posts bother you that much you don't need to continue reading... And if anything hijacked this thread it was negativity, something I tried from the outset to counter.

If you're really this easily triggered by people sharing in a little harmless banter perhaps the internet isn't the best place for you. Your need to be so negative truly baffles me.

As this is going in circles, or will do, I'm tapping out.
