I wish the release date was sooner. my B-day is sept 4 and would love to have it by then i should pass on it for I need a new ereader like i need hole in the head LOL

I have Boox note air 2 plus, Scribe, Elipsa, Clara, Oasis, paperwhite, 3 nooks 3 samsungs and 2 ipads lol

That is the truth. I got out my GL Plus 7.8 and was reading on it. Love having the buttons on both sides. However it is a little heavy to hold. Then I went back to the Oasis. Love the flush screen. Hate turning the reader over every time I change hands. Good grief, what is a person to do. LOL

Yeah same. Literally have a stack of them but eagerly awaiting this.

And I also agree about the release date. I understand the idea of companies doing this to build up "hype" for a product, but I've only seen BadEreader and some random tech guy on YouTube "review" the devices. So who knowssss.

With one model yes. But not the most recent model. The most recent nook is partitioned.

Agreed, lol. Every device has its pros and cons. I do find it reinvigorating to be able to switch devices. Not that I would necessarily read less with only one device option, but it's even more of a joy to pick that book back up.

Right? Seems like B&N always has to do something odd or funky with an ereader release. At least they're somewhat aligned with the upcoming holidays with this one, but it would have been cool to see this tied into a summer reading promotion.

Speaking of badereader(goodereader.com) have you noticed the stupid articles they had recently. OMG do these writers have college degrees in Journalism? lol Their device reviews are good but the regular articles, especially the 2 writers that seem to be in India, really suck.

I use the real tablets for audiobook companions and tend to use Scribe, Sage, Pink Nook for all other reading. I started off with B&N in 2010 as my very first ereader . Got mad at their customer service and went to kindle as my primary book source. I still buy books on Nook on occasion for sentimental reasons. I started with KOBO for I got curious on all the good things I heard it had like the tally of stats, more customization. Write on books with the Sage and Elipsa. Sometimes their ebooks are a tad cheaper than Kindle so I will buy there but in general they run the same sale prices.

I have thew 7.8 and really never used it. I thought the screen quality was poor compared to the small glowlight. My Pink Nook has an amazing screen. the last 7.8 was indeed too bulky
