And even if you want and have $360 in hand, you cannot get one right now anyways....

Actually, yes, if you buy a refurbished one, same warranty and guarantee, available for $329 and 2 day shipping.....Amazon shows these on their 'get new and used' tab. Once you go there, if there are any refurbished available, they have their own tab.

As of now, 7:06 PM Mountain standard time, there aren't any, but Ricky posted 2 hrs ago and they had some. People are snapping them up as quickly as they show.....

They have been popping in and out all day, at least 4 have been sold to people on another forum, so keep looking, one will pop up. On the KindleBoards, they have a Refurbished Kindle Watch link that alerts members of the board when one is available.

The only difference people have reported is a pink sticker on the bottom of the Kindle box, everything else looks like a regular brand new Kindle.

just rememeber this...the bottom of the ocean in only a good start...

Some of my best friends are lawyers and I would not turn my back on them for a microsecond. Play a round of golf with one before ever hiring one...after that round you will know what you are dealing with. And after you get done vomitting, you hire the evil sot because in such cases it's best to have the actual anti-key-rist on your side of the table.

How so? If he pays me and I then delete the book from my drive or even if I give him one I've finished reading then delete it from my drive, that's equivalent to sending him a pbook.

See First Sale Doctrine". Of course if I do so I may be violating Amazon's TOS, but that's hardly illegal.

Um... ...Does anyone else find it amusingly ironic that the one with the guinea-pig in a PIRATE hat for an avatar is the one defending the principles of the LAW in regards to property rights.

Right or wrong, its darn funny. I like funny.

Well, she's a lawyer. Lawyers are pirates that go around doing legal things. Stands to reason...

Just a thought: If a company like bopaboo can start up, an argument can be made for selling ebooks, as well. Although, I don't think bopaboo is going to last very long without being sued.

here is a place where you can get free kindle books whether they're for a Kindle or some other reader. If you look at the list, the last one has some sci-fi titles - webscriptions.net. I got a couple from there for myself.

It should be noted that illegal clauses in contracts (like a TOS or EULA) are non-enforceable.

So if it turns out that Amazon is prohibiting secondary sales, they could be in trouble (IANAL).

Wait, RickyMaveety is a lawyer?!?!

Given that she keeps confusing copyright infringement with theft, I have to wonder what kinda of law she specializes in, because the two are worlds apart.
