I no longer think it's going to be color E-ink, not with that low resolution.

Today I see that it is, in fact, on sale at kobo.com for 89.99.

Kobo Clara HD for $89.99 is valid from May 1, 2020 through May 14, 2020 at 11:59PM EST on purchases made through us.kobobooks.com.

Now I am crossing fingers that the sale price will also be on walmart.com, and soon!

In my country, both the Clara and the Forma are currently showing a 10% discount, while the Libra is not - dammit!

20% off. A great price on a very nice reader. Better than the sale they had in March ($99.99 at the time).

This is starting to smell like clearance.

Hmmm. Tempting. Why do people hope that it shows up in Walmart? Better distribution/shipping?

*This* person's only reason is because I can pick it up at the store instead of having it delivered to my house under the watchful eye of my mother-in-law and other family memebers.

On the U.S. Kobo site, the Libra H2O is completely out of stock. Walmart has them listed, but they're being sold by resellers (not Walmart) and the resellers are marking them up (about $40 or $50 above regular price), rather than putting them on sale. It looks like Kobo is waiting for another batch of Libras.

I hope they do, but the way Walmart has been running in and out of these, I'm not too sure I would wait too long before going with Kobo directly.

They had them yesterday afternoon. I put one in my cart and then decided to wait a bit longer and do more research. Haha.

I don't know. They've been on sale for $89 before. The sale price seems to alternate between $89 and $99 on the Clara.

They've got them at Chapters/Indigo. $200 (Canadian) which is currently $142 U.S. (I think there is also a shipping charge of about $18, not sure about tax.)

Black or White...
https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca...ge%3Avariation

They also have the Clara on sale for $110 Canadian, which is currently $78.37 plus shipping.

And the Forma is $250 Canadian, $178.12 U.S.

Also in stock at the Rakuten site for $170. "Sold and shipped by Rakuten Kobo Inc." It looks like Rakuten now has a U.S. presence as these are supposed to arrive 3-10 days after shipping and are scheduled to ship in 2 days. ($7 Standard shipping to Idaho, other states may vary.)

I picked up a a Clara HD today. Indigo has them on sale for $109.99 CA. (The Forma is on sale for $249.99 CA) Thanks to the sale and the exchange rate, I picked up a Clara HD and a Kobo cover for less than I’d pay for a Clara HD on Kobo’s site. Downside? It won’t arrive until May 27th. The new model might be available by then! 😅

(I posted this BEFORE I saw that Kobo was selling them for $89.99 US. I paid $115.25 US total for the Kobo Clara HD and case. I still did alright. Hard to say which outfit would get the ereader to me faster, though)

Once you get that Playmobile, that Kobo is going to sit unused for a really long time.
