It's a "tabloid presidency" because the "tabloid press" (aka mainstream media) are now acting like the Enquirer. They blow everything out of proportion and do no fact checking before reporting the "news."

I disagree. I don't think mainstream media is blowing things out of proportion. The problem is that it's all too true.

Just keep in mind that the author has admitted that much of it is simply gossip and likely not true. He made no effort to verify most of the stories. The author is well known for that style of writing. If you look at his history, he's basically a tabloid writer.

Yeah, I read the tweets and I have listened to speeches on YouTube before a reporter parses them so they make some sense. When Wolff quotes them, I remember them.

When you have a year of chaos--from the tweets to the staff departures to the outrageous lies to the utter nonsense and disconnect with reality--when there's a new assault on common sense almost every day, it takes a book like this to refresh one's memory. Charlottesville and Scaramucci and Spicer and Twitter wars ... it's been one outrage after another.

And if you paid attention, nothing in the book would come as a major surprise.

Oh? Remember the Roy Moore special election and the allegations? Project Veritas apparently set up a sting to get the Washington Post to print a fake story about Moore impregnating a teenager, but the Post diligently fact-checked and did not run it. I'd call that an example of responsible journalism, and the norm for mainstream media.

There's one. But then you have CNN misreporting the date of a Wikileak's email (they claimed it was before the election but it was after). This caused the stock market to plunge. ABC falsely reported that Flynn met with Russian representatives before the election, when it was after the election. And there have been several of these kinds of reports.

Then there was the big deal with the woman being lionized for flipping off Trump (classy of her) and Trump's wife giving a library Dr. Seuss's books, how that was supposedly "racist," – even though Michelle Obama had praised Dr. Seuss while Obama was in office. Then there was the rebel flag in the background behind Trump's son-in-law on vacation in Florida ... and the bogus "White Power" hand gesture (which was really an "A-OK" hand gesture) from one of Trump's assistants. This one was debunked by the ACLU. Tons of this small-minded garbage like this.

Yeah, and Trump is a blowhard who doesn't know how to shut up, I know that, but the Media doesn't need to sink to his level. A little professionalism, please.
