![]() Mine isn't. I created it on the website long before I owned a Kobo reader, and side-loaded the books to my Sony. Still using the website library instead of the desktop app, though now I sync through the cloud on the Aura H2O. |

As they would most likely show the same date added, removing one would very probably have given you the two for one special on deletions. At least, that has been my experience so far.

Here's a screenshot of my library using Chrome and search from Google on my tablet. It looks like the Kobo app and settings is not Chrome settings, it's Kobo settings. I tapped on "Death by a Honeybee" to try to figure out what it was and it opened it up to read. I never purchased it so who knows where it came from. I used Chrome successfully yesterday, so who knows what happened today. If I choose desktop version in Chrome before I tap the link from Google search I get the actual website. Does anybody see the same thing on a tablet?

Edit: if I freeze the Kobo app the link takes me to the website instead of opening the app. Last edited by Purple Lady; 05-03-2016 at 11:29 PM. |

I used Firefox on IOS to search for Kobo and selected the first link. I signed in and went to my library, it's the same view as I would get using a PC.

Importing the My Library list into calibre
With the gnashing of teeth about what is and isn't in the My Library list, I realised an export would be useful (Brodie: you can take that as a hint). As there isn't one, the quickest way to do it I could think of is using the Import List plugin in calibre. With this, and the attached files, you can save the My Library page and import the list of books to calibre. This will attempt to match the books in the list to books in the calibre library.
While the Import List plugin can read a web page and parse it for a list of books, it does not support sites that need authentication. But, it can read a saved page. So, to use this, you need to visit each page in the library and save the page. There are two files attached:
To use them, import the whichever of the files you want to use into the settings of the plugin. Then you need to select and edit it and specify the saved file to import the books from. For more details on how to use this, see the Import List plugins thread. |

Just noticed the change this morning, and it freaked me out a little. But I figured it out.
I'm not invested in the Kobo ecosystem (I only use them to buy/download epubs), so the redesign has done nothing for me--except making it a little more convoluted to download books/ACSMs. The rest of the whistles and bells are useless to me, as I only use the library to download a book immediately after purchasing it. Just glad they only buried the download option instead of getting rid of it altogether. I was worried for a moment. Last edited by DiapDealer; 05-06-2016 at 10:57 AM. |

It would have been nice to get an email warning of the changes to be made, but I suppose that would have been too much to expect.
Based of the other posts here I'm going to have to check & ensure everything I bought from Sony and WH Smith are still there and its going to take a while as the number of books in My Library is more that double that of my puchases! |

Thank you to all posters. I ran into same problem, but was wondering why Calibre couldn't see the book. I can sympathize with all.
Kobo also changed books that I had bought 2 years ago that were on the reader (I back up elsewhere) Books were paid for. The last 2 straws - message from Kobo on tablet - "Kobo will manage the external card" and the latest - "you must have a wifi connection". I deleted the password for wifi. Kobo can no longer turn wifi on at will. @MickiT I will have to do the same and will have to list in Libre Office version of Excel to get the all the books as I have got many from Gutenberg and Smashwords and they are just under date and in different files on Windows, Android and Linux Last edited by Alpha o; 05-07-2016 at 08:27 AM. |

There's a thread in the calibre forum where Alpha o is complaining about a lot of things that Kobo does. The only thing the thread demonstrated is that Alpha o was not interested in actually reading responses acting on them. The issues mentioned in the thread have absolutely nothing to do with the My Library list. And to comment on the points raised here: - calibre could see the books (the screen shots actually showed this) - Kobo made no changes to those purchased books - There is a message about the Kobo device using the card, but it is not "managing the card". - No, you do not need a WiFi connection if you don't want one. - I'm far to lazy to maintain a spreadsheet when I can just drop the books into calibre. And Alpha o, no, I am not stalking you. But, if you post incorrect claims like this, I will correct you when I see them. |

I far prefer a plain old file tree.
When I looked at those books on the Kobo using windows explorer, there was no file extension. I looked in every file marked Kobo on the computer and saw nothing except stuff that reminded me of dll files or something saying fully parsed. Nothing that could be opened by another reader. No book as far as I was concerned. I bought the damn book, I should have gotten an epub. Calibre would just read /open the book but would do nothing else with it. Couldn't unlock it or any of them using Obok. I do read on an Acer tablet at night, and it's easier to go through Dropbox or move the SD card than bother with Kobo reader. I did get that message about the SD card from Kobo. I put all the books on the SD card rather than the main. It's where I want them. Apparently Kobo doesn't think so. The message about needing wifi just appeared when I took out the password for our wifi. I usually just turn it off and no remarks, but deleting the account generated the message. I find a lot of Calibre to be a perfect pain. I am a fanboy of nothing. I simply don't need or care about all the info you can put in. Nor do I care about rewards for how fast or how many books I'm reading. I also don't annotate books. I do annotate how to guides and manuals. You have the right to be a fanboy, I have the right to say it stinks. |
