Amelia Peabody and family? Love those books!! My current complaint is that I can't get some of the audiobooks unabridged. I've never understood why anyone would want to abridge a book. I mean, it's just wrong to cut out a scene where another shirt is ruined or Amelia bashes someone in the head with her umbrella.

True - and I do like them for long drives (actually, I also love Elizabeth Peters, and the first book I "read" by her was an audiobook on a relatively short drive). However, what I meant by the 3P0 comment was something a bit more interactive. :-)

I try to find lecture series & podcasts to listen to when I'm on really long trips. As long as it's something I'm interested in and I haven't heard it before, it keeps me awake in the middle of the afternoon better than fiction does - I don't know why...

LOL! I love Amelia & all her accessories. My complaint with the audiobooks is the price, at least for the ones I've found. I think I rented the first one I listened to, and it was abridged. It did get me hooked, but I wouldn't do it again.

Those are the ones . I'm only on the third book in the series so far, but I think they're wonderful, and the lady who narrates them does such a good job with all the different voices and accents, too.

So just in case anyone is curious, I am leaning towards going with the Kindle.

Especially since my dad asked me what I want for my birthday. Now, he's not going to foot the whole bill, but an Amazon egift certificate is probably coming my way. They never know what to get me these days :>

I'm half tempted to wait a little longer to see if there is any truth the the v2.0 rumors...but we'll see how long I can hold myself back.
