Interesting. Seems to only work for making a selection rather than moving the cursor; is that right?

For me it moved the cursor. I only tried it for a few seconds but it seemed to work great.

When typing with the keyboard, you can convert it to a trackpad by placing two fingers on the screen anywhere inside the keyboard. The keys will turn dark gray, losing all letters and numbers. You can move the cursor by dragging both fingers across the screen, lifting your fingers when the cursor has reached its destination.

I got one about three weeks ago, and I LOVE it!! The pencils were back ordered (I only got mine last week), but so far, great.
I do a lot of drawing on my iPad, and I wondered if the pressure sensitivity and quality of the response (lack of lag) would be worth it ... And wow, just wow. I got the Logitech keyboard because I did not like the response of the Apple keyboard (even though that is waterproof), and the keyboard is killer as well. Here's the best part. It got me back into reading. As I've gotten older, my eyes have pretty much gone to hell, and the larger screen makes reading with larger fonts bearable. I still use my other iPads, for various purposes (like my mini on the go), but at home and at work, my iPad Pro is my device of choice. |

The pencil, for now, only works with the iPad Pro. I suspect that, as future versions of the smaller pads come out, they will be compatible with the pencil, but then I can't really predict the future, so what I suspect could be crap.
I'll tell you, the way it works on the iPad Pro makes me positively giddy. It is perfect for taking notes, and for drawing and painting. I am such a happy camper. No regrets for having bought it. The one thing that I immediately noticed was missing was a place to actually put the pencil. I ended up making my own lanyard sheath case, which came out looking pretty damn good, and works well. Otherwise, I would be worried about putting it down somewhere and forgetting where I put it. (Which happens a lot at my age.) |

The palm rejection is seamless. I wasn't even aware it was going to work until I got my pencil, and realized ... Well, that it just worked. I have taken notes on it (using Notability) for a solid week now, and not a single glitch.
I'm sorry if I end up sounding like a fan girl or worse, a shill, but seriously ... I love the thing. |

I disagree, but only because my eyes are not what they once were. My iPad Pro has gotten me back into reading ebooks in a large part because of the size of the screen. I can choose a larger font without having two words show up on each page.
I think that they will add the pencil to newer iPads as they come out but then I'm an optimist in that regard. The pencil is fairly long, well balanced, but long. I'm not certain people would want to carry it around for jotting notes on their iPhone. At least, I wouldn't. My mini? Maybe. But not my phone. The battery life on the pencil is awfully good. I managed to drain mine today, but I just plugged it in for about half an hour, and that gave me another 10 or so hours of use. |

Which apps do you use to draw? I liked the pencil when I tried it in the Apple Store but there weren't enough drawing apps on the demo iPad to really get a feel for it.

I use Leonardo, SketchBook, and Procreate to draw. I also do a lot of painting with those apps.
For special effects and clean up, I use Pixelmator, iColorama, DistressedFX, Waterlogue, Stakables, Ripped HD, Superimpose, Colordrop, Etchings, Rainy Daze HD, Reflect, and a few other filters. I got many of them free through AppsGoneFree. I only pay for something if I have to, and it has enough features to justify the price. Several of my paintings are on Facebook if you are curious about what the end product looks like. |

GAAAAHHHHHHHH! Ricky! Now I have a terrible GAS attack and want to buy one right this minute! NO funds, have to wait. ARGHHHHHHHH. Good to read your comments though. I'm a photographer and wanted the Pro for editing. Still do, but making do with my Air2.
