You'd forget what an app named OVERDRIVE was meant to be used for?

I've only ever used kindle format library books from Overdrive, but my library has added Axis360 now. The book selection is great but I'm not too happy with their Android app. I'm confused about what other options there might be for reading Axis360 books. They do have epub format shown on many books. It sounds like I need ADE installed on a PC to access the epubs, is that true?

Once I do that can I read their epub on some Android or Fire app? Would Moon+ work?

What about using an Nook simple touch? Does the Nook have to be registered?

I think the library needs to opt in to Adobe EPUB checkouts, but if so you can read them in other apps just like any bog-standard Adobe EPUB.

But you will still need an app that supports Adobe Digital Editions DRM, which Moon+ does not.
You can also use the Nook, as long as you authorize it with ADE. Having never owned or used a Nook, I have no idea whether you need to register first in order to do so.

...

There might be apps that support downloading an ACSM license file from the library website and using it to download the EPUB from the Content Server -- without using a desktop installation of ADE as an intermediate step. Try Bluefire, for one.
