Yes, you need the correct image. I have sent you the link to the image for the WiFi N647B. That should work.

Hi everyone
Someone just gave me the Kobo N647 that as the 1.9.11 version which is unable to see books, to be recognize by Kobo Desktop and by Calibre. Can I also get the SD image please please please?

Thanks a lot, super fast! But as it happened to Gewurz previously, the image disk is associated with a kobo account I can't get rid of on the device now...

Try a factory reset. As per message #26 in this thread, that worked for Gewurz.
