A couple of notes on Kobo ereaders:
- There are at least two alternative reading applications available for Kobo devices, both of which allow you to organize and access your ebooks through folders. It is possible to install both applications in conjunction with Kobo's application, and switch between them. You do not need to root your device in order to install these third party applications. Indeed, Kobo has shown no interest in "securing" their devices. This means that you can be reasonably well assured that these third party applications will continue to work well into the future. - The processing books issue only applies to books visible to Kobo's reading application, and it is possible to hide books from Kobo's reading application while retaining visibility to other reading applications. From my experience, it can take several minutes to process a book under rare circumstances. I suspect this is a rare occurrence for most users, otherwise their readers would be hugely inconvenient and umpopular. |

Guess I should update this thread: I installed KOReader on my Paperwhite, and it does exactly what I wanted, so I have found my solution.
Thanks. |
