But it was more than just a "checkbox". There's talk of adblockers, QT, Calibre related stuff, ... And it applies to all the policies. There are people who follow the rules, people who have to push them to the limit, people who break them. You see it on all sites. Quote:

Ad-blockers? So what. The mentions of QT were just in general about what changed with the updated tools & the update to Calibre 2.0 using QT5. Again, so what. Still not any kind of detailed DRM removal instruction?

DRM removal has never been a black and white topic. I don't know why anyone would think rules governing its discussion would be any more (or less) so.

Touche. In fact there are very few topics of discussion period that are black and white I think. That's not to say there are none, but a lot of things depend upon our point of view.

The important thing to keep in mind is that certain outside powers don't like DRM removal, and if someone posts something that leads to one of those certain powers taking legal action against MobileRead, you can bet that MobileRead's owner, MobileRead's moderation team, and MobileRead's rank and file members who have come to depend on MobileRead aren't going to be too kindly disposed to that person.

Back on topic. A friend's wife hated cats after she survived a rabid cat attack and the shots given 40 years. |

There's no room on MR for anti cat bigotry, IMHO. If a cat scratches you and leave ugly painful welts, don't blame the cat. Blame evolution for leaving you pelt less and thin skinned! Fun fact about cats: they lost their receptor for sweet, so when your kitty appears to be greatly enjoying your ice cream, she's only in it for the fat. You're training her to eat you when you're dead, basically. |

The link to download the tools lead nowhere, it says the link is not valid. Also, tons of viruses on that page, he should go back to the host of the previous tool, no viruses and download clearly marked. And Alf has removed the comments on his blog so it's impossible to tell him about the issues which is really frustrating. I've tried on numerous browsers: IE, Palemoon (Firefox), Opera and Chrome.
