I'm afraid it will bother lots of potential mini owners around the world. We'll see. Quote:
I also use GoodReader on iOS. I can't seem to find anything as good as GoodReader on Android; ezPDF doesn't quite cut it.

LOL at preliminary poll results here. The original poster asked for advice on iPad Air versus iPad mini Retina, and with 40 votes in, it's 50% to 50%. We're being very helpful in his decision-making. I advise everyone to get iPad Air, but will probably end up getting iPad mini Retina myself. (But only because iPad 3 is such a superb gadget; I'd swap it for an iPad Air in a heartbeat, but not at the considerable extra costs this would incrue currently.) |

But I'm really pleased with the weight reduction on the 10 inches iPad . I have the full weekend to think about it ... Last edited by jocampo; 11-01-2013 at 09:54 PM.

If I had to choose a single iPad, there's no way I'd get the mini Retina over iPad Air. As it is, I think it's a good idea to possess both, or a combo of an older Retina 10-inch iPad with the new Retina mini. The Retina screen is a non-negotiable feature for me (again, due to reduced eye-strain).

I pulled the trigger on a 64GB White/Silver iPad Air Wifi. I'm coming over from the Kindle Fire HD. The Air is only a little larger than the Retina Mini but my middle aged eyes appreciate a larger screen. That's why I *don't* have an iPhone. I'm spoiled by the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone seems tiny next to it. The OP should wait until the new Mini comes out and then compare the Air and it side by side. |

I like that the Mini Retina is not as small as the 6" readers out there such as my Kobo Glo without being too big as the Ipad air is. I think almost 8" is probably the perfect size for me. Oh, and I think I'll go with a 64 GB memory model Last edited by Quexos; 11-07-2013 at 05:02 PM. |

Which is strange if you consider each section of this comparison apart, the Ipad Mini seems to be the clear winner to me. - Design - Winner: Ipad Mini with Retina Display - Display - Winner: Tie (though In my opinion the fact that there is more real estate on the Mini gives it an edge) - Performance - Winner: Ipad Mini with Retina Display - Security and Users - Winner: Nexus 7 - Apps and Content - Winner: Ipad Mini with Retina Display - Price and Availability - Winner: Nexus 7 (This criterion while important is not one judging of what the Ipad is or its power or performance. Personally I'd rather have an expensive but top of the line device than a cheap one with lower quality components or performance) Quote:

I voted for the regular but would now change that to Mini if I could. I have the current gen Mini but intend to sell that, either way, because I like the retina screen. I had occasion to pop my iPad3 out of the keyboard I have it sitting in, on a table, and I was gobsmacked at how much it seemed to weigh. Either my wrists have gotten weaker (possible) or ... well, I don't know what the "or" would be. I know the iPad air is supposed to be lighter, I guess it is... but a mini will be lighter still, so I think both my current iPads will go, and be replaced by a single mini. Eventually.
