I have over 750 books in my library, but there are ones I want to read again. So I left them there on the the annoying thingie (lol). It didn't take me long, but I did accidentally delete one book off the device. Should have a yes/no popup for that, but no biggie. LOL.
I also had to manual load. Hugs, Ratkity |

It took me about an hour to remove all the archived books from my carousel. I'm glad to be done.

Hmm...I did it on two different Kindle Fire's and they both updated to 6.2.1 after doing the sync and putting them to sleep.
I did have to leave them alone. Anything you do like turning them on to check if it's happening resets the whole process. So it's Sync...wait 15 seconds...put it to sleep...don't touch it for 10-15 minutes. It's worked like a charm for both the updates I received on the original Fire, and now on the replacement Fire. Interestingly enough the C0A0 revision Fire I just received today is faster than the B0A0 revision Fire I've been using. I have them side by side, loaded with the same content and the C0A0 is consistently faster at just about every task, especially opening books. There's a good 1 to 1.5 second difference in load times per book. |

My B0A0 and C0A0 units performed the same tasks in the same amount of time when I did a side-by-side test. Neither has been updated to 6.2.1 yet.

Hardware some times vary. It's like this with PCs too. They can be identical inside and yet one is faster than the other sometimes.

Indeed. I'm looking for some other differences as well. It seems like they've made some minor changes. One of the changes I can spot right off the bat is that (at least on my C0A0 device) that they are using a slightly different glass than on the B0A0 revision.
This is noticeable when looking at light reflected off the surface. With the new C0A0 Fire the light in my room when reflected comes off very white. On the B0A0 it has a yellowish tinge to it. It's actually fairly noticeable. The downside is that fingerprints seem to be slightly more noticeable. The upside is that it makes the screen appear to have better contrast. As noted before, the USB port does seem to have been changed slightly, and is easier to work with. It looks the same as far as placement goes, but there may have been a change to the part used. These could all just be unit to unit differences, but I would hate to think that Amazon would be shipping inconsistent hardware, especially in regards to the tint of the glass. Otherwise there's not much to see here regarding the B0A0 and C0A0 models, which would be what one would hope for. Last edited by Morpheus Phreak; 12-21-2011 at 02:39 AM. |

The only noticeable difference between my B0A0 and C0A0 units is the colors on the screen and the brightness. I think my B0A0 has more of a pinkish tint. The grey of the home background and shelves is darker. The blue on the Pandora icon is darker like a slate blue whereas its more of a light sky blue on the C0A0. My C0A0 is also brighter. Although either is fine, and it's not like one is bad. I think that maybe I prefer the B0A0 because I think the screen is too bright as it is and the colors are closer to my iPhone when I compare app icons. |
