Surprisingly, my house has electrical outlets every twelve feet or so along the walls. Charging won't be a problem.

Now I have pared down to six book cases, but in years past I had as many as thirteen, so going electronic and having seven or eight ereaders about is still an overall reduction in space used, no harm no foul.

Since I am finally getting around to reading public domain stuff I had put off for years, I spend as much in a year on books as I used to spend in a month at used bookstores. I could buy two new ereaders and a tablet every year and still be below my old book budget.

I just bought my second ebook reader. I upgraded from a Sony 600 to a 650, but didn't keep the 600. I bought a Pocketbook 360+. I have just always thought it looked cool and I've managed to convince myself that the two readers are different enough that I could justify having two... Ha ha ha. We'll see how that works out. The plan now is to try them both and sell one later.

Ideally I would like to have one small screen reader like the Pocketbook and one large screen reader like the Pocketbook 902 or something similar. Then I can have a big one for home and a small one for my purse.

Ebook readers are like any other electronic gadget. People just like to have different ones. There's no reason sometimes.

Like Raccoons most of us like bright and shiny objects...I know I do.
Ereaders have been evolving and as they evolve, offering a better and wider reading environment, most of us want that new offering.
I've been purchasing books since 1967...The Hobbit...purchased while in the 7th grade and in a catholic grammar school run by nuns of the Sisters of (no)Mercy group, imagine that...If I still had every book I have purchased I've no idea how much room it would take but it would be a lot.

I started out with a Sony 500...dropped it after a year or so...replaced with a Sony 300...my son has it and loves it...replaced with a T1...oooh a shiny new toy...using it as a backup for now...replaced with the Kindle Fire...oooh another shiny new toy...gotta have it gotta have it.
My inner raccoon must have what it wants.
At least I use them or give them away so someone else can use it. I'd not like it if they just sat in a box collecting dust...oh that sounds like my boxes of books...

The problem is that the makers of e-readers do this intentionally so that we constantly consume more e-readers. You can replace e-reader with any other gadget in the previous sentence. It's no accident that new e-readers, smartphones, tablets, etc. come out every year. I admit that I fall into the same trap. I brought my iPod Touch when I didn't really need another iPod at all. The iPod Nano (which my niece now owns) was and is working perfectly fine. Now, I'm committed to keeping my iPod Touch until it dies. The same with my Sony 350. Yes, the Sony T1 has features that my 350 doesn't have but do I really need to grab the T1? They both allow to read epubs and e-books from the library. I mean to be honest, I didn't need the 350 so why should I buy the T1?

I'm going to load up my Slick ER701 with kids books, and give it to my 8 year old son after Christmas. I like the color display, and reading on a LCD display doesn't bother my eyes at all. No dictionary, no access to the table of contents, and the tiny buttons have made this ereader a less than enjoyable experience.

I've actually got 3 PRS-350's (one for regular fiction, one for fanfiction, another as backup). I'd love to have wi-fi (specially for fanfic) and would probably appreciate the faster CPU for navigating my large fanfic library (~3,000 pure text epubs barely taking up 200MB), but the glossy bezel on the T1 is a major turn-off, plus, text on the 350 just looks sharper.

Considering getting the iRiver Story HD (6" 1024x768) for reading manga. The Nook Color starts feeling darned heavy during marathon reading sessions (if the battery can last long enough, that is). The iPad 2 already feels too heavy to begin with.

Once the ereaders are disposable we will all have as many as we could ever want. That should be fun..

Lol, "inner raccoon". That's great! I was also educated by the Sisters of Mercy. Did get a good education, but the sight of a ruler gets me twitching.
