Oh, and I do like my T1, except for the fact that I would have to root it to add other dictionaries. Compared to my PocketBook, that's a right pain in the ass. Last edited by rkomar; 04-04-2012 at 02:11 AM. |

I do (I like it so much).
This is my first reader though. I carry it with me almost everywhere. Had a problem with the shiny black bezel, but I fixed it with a Decal Girl decal :-) |

Both my Mother and Mother-in-Law like their red T1 with light cover.

I absolutely LOVE my T1! I believe it's the best reader on the market, bar none. And it was so easy to make a great ereader into a great reader/tablet, with the quick and simple rooting procedure. I was able to download all sorts of terrific, free apps, and even customize my homepage, (thanks to Morkl over at the developers forum; took about two minutes) The end result is that I now have an outstanding Android-powered tablet computer for a mere $129, which does pretty much anything/everything a "real" tablet does. I can surf the net, read newspapers from around the world, show the weather forecast on my desktop, use it as a calculator, calendar, go straight to Wikipedia, play games, (I love Sudoku, Chess, Cribbage, Euchre, Blackjack, Solitaire) check my email, (Facebook/Twitter, etc. for those so inclined) store photos/documents, listen to music, and best of all....READ. (I currently have about 4,000 books on it!) I even have a terrific app that allows me to save interesting articles to read later offline.
Drawbacks? Well, there are two aspects of my T1 "tablet" that some may consider a negative, but not I. First, the lack of a colour screen, and secondly, the fact that it won't play video. I love that my beloved T1 is now about the thinnest, lightest "tablet" available today; it can basically fit in my pocket. The touch screen performs brilliantly. And there you have it. It is an affordable, yet extremely well-made reader/tablet computer. It takes a grand total of about 10 minutes to very easily transform the Sony PRS-T1 into a functioning, quality tablet computer. I am not sure how I ever managed without it! Glen Last edited by camperbc; 04-05-2012 at 05:43 AM. |

I'm really liking my T-1 as well, and mine is just stock, no root. White color, so no glare issues.
I like the better font sizing, I like the lighter weight, it just works well for me. OK every once in a while, if I use the button to advance pages, it goes two pages instead of one. Doesn't seem to do that when swiping, so it's no biggie for me. I have a 350, but the T-1 has become my go to reader because of the better font sizing. |

Love mine. Glare doesn't bother me even though it's black. Much better contrast on the screen than my NSTs. Nice to be able to access my kobobooks account directly from the device, especially since the sony store won't let me buy anything.
Sony makes a great device. They suck at selling books. |

I love mine. I'd love to learn how to root it to add dictionaries, though - you can never have enough (I actually collect dead tree dictionaries. It drives my husband nuts
![]() I've shown my T1 to a friend recently, who was very impressed with and plans on purchasing one as soon as he can. It's a lovely device. |

I love the T1. It's light-weight, and you can borrow books directly from the library without a PC. It works very well after the latest update.

I like all Sony devices. Personally for me 950 was better but that's me. PRS T-1 is a great reader with tons of options.

At first I love my Sony PRS-T1. But now I'm getting more more frustration on it.
First of all, I already gotten it fully charged in my office and happily syn all new books into the Sony PRS-T1 successfully . I put it to sleep with the book cover of my new book which I intend to read it after my dinner. So happily I travelled home (20 minutes journey) with my motorbike. The Sony reader was covered with the sony lighted cover so it's protected with any bumps happened during the journey. After i gotten home, had my dinner, I took it out to read my new book and the ebook refused to turn on. At first I thought it's hang/freeze, so I use a pin to reset it. It did not do anything , nothing happened. No lights when I push the power button. So frustrated , I plugged in the wall charger, a few minutes later, the ebook booting up. When successfully booted up, I unplug, it says battery low, please charge it. I'm wondering, how come it can lose power so fast , it's only 2 hours since I got home, everybody says it can last for 1 month ? So puzzled. Never mind , I got it charged overnight. The following day , I did not bring it to office, I switch if off totally this time instead of making it sleep. When I got home, switch it on , voila.. the battery still full and I start to read. I encountered it another time when I travel overseas. I put inside my travel pouch , and when I wanted to read the thing.. I cannot power it on, same problem with the first one, no power. I should have returned it. BH... I read in the forums, it could be due to the sd card that causing the battery drained. So I removed the sd card and resyn with calibre , of course with limited storage I had chosen few books only. When finished , I disconnected it and bring it home. After 1 hour I got home, the ebook still asking me to please wait , it seem like still indexing the books that I syn with it's internal memory. BH.. I can't read that night. I was so frustrated that I rebooted it few times but it still hang at the please wait screen. I push the reset button again ... and it booted up . And i can use the ebook again and read them . Boy I'm so scared to syn it with my calibre again , in future if I have new ebooks, how to syn with it if it need reset and waiting for it to finish syn is really very time consuming. Bad experience. No problem if I did not do any syn too often to prevent needing to reset the ebook again. It's so unreliable and really an embarrassment because when i took it out to read, the screen shows frozen screen or please wait screen and put it back. I'm so afraid to take it out nowadays to face the same problem . I'm just wondering, if the new t2 will be better ? |

I have it for some time now and I really like it. The annotation feature is very handy for proofreading.
@kkysnoopy: I think you have bad device. I cannot relate to anything there. Perhaps a hard reset will help you? |

Me neither, or at least not enough to bother about. I'm very happy with my T1, although I do think the price is too steep, given the competition out there.
