After about 20 years of useless gaming, I feel I'm about done -- I believe the final chapter for Solid Snake made it for me, quite emblematic as the rest of the industry devolves back into simplistic and idiotic arcade fun like in the humble beginings.

Now I feel like I have much to say and even much more to read, seeking for the meaning of life in books, poetry and stimulating forum posts...

Am I addicted to MR? Not at all. I could easily give up on it. I have not visited MR for 4 weeks without any withdrawal effects.
I compare it to my book reading addiction. There was not one day during those 4 weeks when I didn't read a book for 30 minutes at the very least.

On the other hand, there is one specific thread that I would miss.
Addiction? Not at all. I feel affection for the company of very nice, smart and intelligent people over there. I value their company on the par with a company of my RL friends that are few but dear.
Could I stop coming here? Without a shadow of a doubt, Yes. However, it would be my loss. I would deprive myself of something important. Such as interaction with people whose opinions I value.

I totally agree. And also Mobile Read is the best place I know of to learn a whole lot about eBooks fast. Not that I know much yet - another good reason to hang out here.
