If you enter even the standard gmail url at skweezer.com, it will reformat it into a flat, but long, simple page view. If you click on an attachment in that view, you'll get a skweezer error message and link to access the attachment directly. That link will work to download the doc to the Kindle. It's not quite as bad as it sounds once you try it. Quote:

That should do it, though it's been months since I've tried it on a K2, something may have changed. Other K2 users may be able to confirm. You could always try skweezer or similar on a K2 also. ApK |

I have a K3 now, too. That's why I need to use skweezer to get the downloads from my GMail. I didn't have to when I had a K2.
Have you tried to get download from your GMAIL via 3G on your K3 with skweezer yet? |

This technique isn't sounding too, too handy.
![]() J/K. I actually had it set up for while where I could browse and download from my calibre library (content server), but it wasn't really very practical in the long run. But that may be because I don't consider the Kindle's browser (especially the K2 version) to be anything other than a slightly flaky utility that I could live without, for the most part. ![]() |

K3's browser is actually a lot better for Content Server, I use that from time to time (but use the wifi email from Calibre more.)
But Gmail, for whatever reason, insists on trying to open EVERYTHING in a new window on the K3, which, unless hacked, the K3 can't handle at all. On the K2, links worked more directly. For example, on the K2, I could click on a JPG attachment in a Gmail message and get a full screen view in the Kindle's picture viewer. On the K3, I cannot get to the jpg without skweezer, I can only see the inline thumbnail. The 3G downloading from gmail attachments is certainly not ideal, but I was in fact able to figure it out last week while waiting for them to close the airplane doors and managed to get my book from the Amazon email message before being told to turn off all devices. After that, I bookmarked skweezer.com so it will be slightly easier in the future, but I haven't had the need to do it again yet. Still, nice to know it can be done. haha this is awesome. the fact that i just got some pearl s buck converted from pdf to azw to my free.kindle.com email is just one more reason why amazon is the best of the best.
you're foolish to get anything other than a kindle imo. |
