In the grand scheme of things, it sucks. But, as much blame as Apple gets for it, the iFlow folks could've branched out to other platforms. Their unwillingness/inability to do so is also to blame.

"With Windows you choose..." What?
![]() ![]() I use all three platforms (plus Android) and don't feel in the least restricted, I just use the tools I find appropriate for what (and where) I want to do... I care less about platform wars and whose is the best, I only want to use my electronics to do things, not for their sake but mine... |

And from the point of view of a user I could care less about the difference between Unix and Linux, I'm only interested in what I can do with the machine(s) they're running on...

Where did the iPad dig come from... I said nothing about an iPad as I don't have one, it looks pretty but the hardware doesn't meet my needs, that's why I use Android - it's gives me a tablet that has what I want - easy expandability... as you say, to each his own... and if not using an iPad is your definition of freedom then a lot of patriots really wasted their time. My idea of freedom is the choice to do things and use things rather than defining myself by what I don't do or use...

Freedom means the ability to choose what works for the individual making the choice. The vast majority of computer users choose not to use Linux because it won't run most of the programs they'd like it to run without tedious workarounds. Other people like tedious workarounds, though. Apple users choose OSX because it is best for them; windows users choose windows for the same reason. The same is true of Linux users. And it is the height of arrogance to presume that people who choose differently from you (and who do so for obvious reasons) are slaves, while only you enjoy "freedom." In fact, everyone is just as free as you are because they have chosen their own OS...just as you have. |

Help me out (not being an Apple user) doesn't I Pad = Apple these days? There used to be Apple users faking Windows to run apps. Are they still around? |

No, because modern Macs can run Windows natively.

You mean using Virtual Machines and Sandboxes just like PC users are encouraged to use... not needed, never "faked" as VMs run the real thing... thought Apple = iPad, iPhone, iPod, Mac Book (and Air and Pro), iMac and Mac Pro - just peeked at their site and you can see this information for free, just like lots of other things you can find on the net... if you look rather than blindly make silly statements...

The whole apple users "faked" windows was 3-4 osx versions ago keep up. i have an imac with all the same Intel cpu, dual core, with ATI hd 5850 and 1 tb wd hard drive, hardware wise its just like any other "pc" the difference is that it runs BOTH osx snow lepard AND runs Windows vista. i my MAC i run the best of both worlds on one machine. On most pc you have to have a major amount of work around to do this i dont run anything in virtual modes anyone who does this is of thier choice i just boot up the operating system i want at the time, i usedosx for all my productivity software and surfing the net, and managing itunes, thne booted up my windows when i wanted to play my computer games. on my mack all i had to do was partition my 1tb hd in half with the help of a built in program in osx and installed my windows vista on my imac just like i had installed windows on my last 6 pc's. Feels like freedom to me and not being a SLAVE to apple, my ability to buy amazon books and read them on my ipod touch and on my kindle AND my galaxie tab sure doesnt feel like im an apple slave to me. |

It seems highly negligent to base a business on a strategy that depends entirely on decisions made by Apple. The very design of the ipad and the app store clearly shows that Apple wants to exert maximum control over the whole system and its content.
