oh yes! very definitely! think of the highest glossy magazine you have ever seen, go glossier! that is the high gloss. the matte is just so much nicer to look at. I swear there is almost depth to it!

this is the skin I got. when I ordered it, it did not show the break down which it now does, ie; the front of the kindle had as you can see, the disembodied head of the girl on top of the screen and just a little of the boots at the bottom missing all of that marvelous detail, and then just the front quarters of the bear on the back. it would seem to me to be pretty much of a no brainer to put the entire image on the back to be enjoyed. additionally the gloss was incredibly high gloss. it caught reflections from almost everything and I was quite often picking up little glares off of it.

now here is my decalgirl skin. as you can see, a little bit of quality control was exercised here. there is a tiny bear in the front lower right corner and the colors swirled through the screen. the back has all of the detail and colors so you can experience the entire piece of art. I was incredibly disappointed with the skinit, that it appeared very little thought went into the printing, it was carried out literally and not artistically. does that make sense?

I do see what you mean. You mention your skin-it was high gloss. Did you got for the matte decalgirl?

I am not looking to decorate, I'm looking to enhance contrast with a dark Kindle DX skin (on a white DX) - does this actually work?

yes, the decalgirl skin is matte and it is a HUGE!!!!! difference!

Yeah, I kind of like Tron. I deny any knowledge of the so-called squeal.

I have two skins on order from Amazon now. They're for my Kindle 3. Thing is, I figured out that they're not going to be the type of skin that I really wanted. They're going to be more like "stickers." (I'm still interested in finding out what they're all about.)

I was hoping for something that was more "rubber/silicone like." Something that I stretch over my Kindle. (Sort of like what my niece has on her iPod.) Does anybody know of any good rubber/silicone skins for the Kindle 3?

I did get a silicone skin for my K1 from Amazon. I didn't use it very much! preferred a cover for it. I would suggest searching at Amazon using silicone skin + Kindle 3

I am kind a a basic black girl....& kind of happy with the colour of my Kindle3 it's the fingerprints that I can't stand.
what are the pro's & con's involved in using a 'skin' in opposed to 'going naked' lol!
I am with Otterbooks regarding texture & feel. Nothing sticky or slippy, I am accident prone enough.

unless you get a skin you just hate (and I've done that) there really are not any cons. DO get the matte skin though if you don't want fingerprints and slippery

You evil people......I got my Kindle for Christmas and so far I have ordered a skin from Decal girl, loved it so much I got some skins for my Droid. I got an Octovo light. I also have an Oberon cover on order (Black Roses).

And I blame you all.

Hmm wait until you start looking throught the book recommendations, I had a £50 voucher for my birthday and checked on my account the next day and I had *ahem* used all but about 50p using links and recommendations from here and goodreads!
