Thanks @BrightSoul. That's quite noticeable, both in the picture from your link and the next one.

Have you had enough time to notice if these ghosting artifacts go away after a while or if they accumulate as the device gets used?

The ghosting is from a setting for page turn speed. The device can be set by the user to either fully refresh on every page turn or only partial refresh and then do a full refresh every "x" pages. The less often you do full refresh the faster the page turns are in between but the display gets "dirty". You can choose from always or 3,5 and 10 pages between full refresh.

On my Boox 60 I often read with full refresh off completely as after a bit instead of ghosting it creates a whiter space around the text as all the "ghosts" merge. Id like it if the had the "never" option on the PocketBook as well. For some texts it works better than others.

Have not make great notice of that - because is it possible, that it is gone away, when you do more than 10 things like change the side or others with your device - that is changeable in th configuration of your reader.

But then this is it not - than "Housten - we have problem".

Notice in Brightsoul's picture the ghosts are whiter than the background "page"? That shows you that the "page" could actually be whiter than it is and you may be able to see what i was getting at about the white space around text. As more and more of those " ghost boxes" accumulate on the display and overlap the the more white space you have around the body of the text.

I was concerned that it was an image burn-in issue, like the first generations of plasma panels had if you had the misfortune to let the same image display for too long.

You guys say that it's just a refresh speed optimization side-effect, it's temporary and it can be avoided if one can live with the lengthy full refresh between two page turns.

Seems reasonable enough and something one can live with.

When I say that it is wrong - It could be this, I do not know it 100% because I can not see on the 902. I has it not more here - it go back to the reseller.

As I wrote before, even with the full page refresh set to be performed always, you don't get rid of all the ghosting, but it doesn't bother much.

And other questions - what do you pay for your Kindle DX and when do you buy it?

In low light is the most complex for both. When you have use nightmode with your camera and do not make it with own hand - use the timer and a tripod or something like that (books, cushion - do the same). Than you could make with all digicams good pictures - the only difference between DSLR and compact is that the compact have more noise on this pictures.
Unfortunately that Kindle is not mine and in the near future I won't get my hands on it again.

I get it, but I compared the two devices only with my eyes, without taking any photos.

Das bedeutet, dass der Kindle nicht ihm gehört hat und er ihn nicht so schnell wieder in die Finger kriegen wird.

Not a news: the Pearls screen of Kindle3 or prs 650 has higher contrast than 602's normal vizplex screen. (220 dpi vs. 166 dpi) Everyone knows it... They just choose between the hardware and software depending on their preference.

I have two eink devices: the Pearl one and the vizplex one. Their contrast difference is clear but still I like the vizplex one too since it has better ability and still quite readable. If you really need the pearl screen then go with Kindle 3 or Sony prs 650, or for 9inch one go with Kindle DXG. That's your call.

First to make this clear - the device almost surely does not allow making regular PDF annotations. The notes here, if I understand it right, are just portions of text from the document. If you want to make a note in a document, you select the region of text it should span and that's it. Then, you can review the notes you created from the main menu where they are organized under the respective books. Anyway, I was not able to create a note in the PDF file. I tried it, selected the text region, but I could not find the note in the menu then (the book was not listed there at all). Then I tried to create a note in an EPUB file and this time it was ok.
...
Can the Pocketbook guys here please comment/elaborate that issue? The ability to make PDF annotations is critical for my buying decision.

Thanks.
