For my last nomination, I propose Trilby by George du Maurier. From Barnes and Noble:

I support
- Trilby and suggest - Neville Shute: A Town Like Alice - Erich Maria Remarque: l'Arc de Triomphe (Although I don't know about the availability of a translation in English. If not, then simply ignore it.) Unfortunately, only A Town Like Alice is in the public domain and only in 50+ countries. |

I'm sure you are just as correct here as the phrase "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" is.

I'd like to point out that Trilby is in the public domain and therefore free; no need to purchase. Here is the ManyBooks link to an all-formats download page. Perhaps the information in the nomination could be changed?

I nominate Love Story by Erich Segal.
From Amazon: This is the wonderful, tumultuous, heartfelt story of Oliver Barrett IV and Jenny Cavilleri--the story of a rich Harvard jock and a wisecracking Radcliffe music major who have nothing in common but love . . . and everything else to share but time. Funny and flip, sad and poignant, Erich Segal's magnificent novel will grab you, hold you, and stay with you forever. You, like more than twenty million others, will fall in love with Love Story. "Not just a story--Love Story is an experience. The reader who responds to this little book will feel less like a reader than an unwritten Segal character, living it all out from the inside... In this 'love story' you are not just an observer."--Christian Science Monitor. "Funny, touching and infused with wonder, as all love stories should be."--San Francisco Examiner |

I would second Maurice if an ebook edition could be found. That's a good book and a great choice. Strange that no one has published one.
