Rafflesia arnoldii. It's native to Sumatra and can grow to 3 feet and weigh up to 24 pounds. Also known as the corpse flower for reasons posted by SneakySnake. It's pollinated by flies who apparently find the stench irresistible.

Smells exactly like rotting meat. We hiked several miles across the base of Mt Kinabalu in the Kinabalu National Park in Malaysian Borneo, about 6 hours of hiking, just to see this thing. Really, really big sucker, and stinks to high heaven! Well worth the effort to see, as they only flower once in their lifetime, and getting to see one is really rare! We just happened to be in Borneo for a dive trip, and took a side trip when we heard that one was coming into bloom.

One of you needs to give us the next question.

Niagara Parks managed to get 2 of these to flower in May of this year. They posted pictures online of the flowers as they grew.
