I just finished reading the first story in "The Best Science Fiction of the Year" Edited by Gardner Dozois http://www.amazon.com/Years-Best-Sci.../dp/0312608977
Story was by Utriusque Cosmi - Robert Charles Wilson. -- great story. Involved things even bigger than the universe. ![]() |

Finished reading _The Well of Ascension_ which was Mistborn book 3. This was a really good series... I would rate all 3 books 4 out of 5 stars.
Next read is Hal Spacejock 1... After that, I was going to read all the join Hugo/Nebula award winners that I have yet to read... but I see that Terry Brooks has a new (2009) Landover book out.. .that I knew nothing about. that is one of my favorite series so I'll be reading that after Spacejock. Re: Discworld love or not. Reading is like listening to music. What I like, my roommate is just not interested in. Still I listen to what she does and I try to get her to listen to some of my stuff. Can't stand romance novels and she loves them. Trying to get her to start using my Nook so I can loan her some of my YA novels, which she loves.
Re: Bob's Hugo/Nebula Book read. Now that's a challenge to try. I've read some in paperbacks, but it might be fun to work my way through the list. |

Finally reading Fever Pitch, about a quarter in. Can't believe I've never read it since I'm such a dork for soccer (sorry, football). I was looking for something lighter after The Warsaw Anagrams, a compelling but grim historical mystery about an elderly Jew trying to solve the murder of his nephew from within the Warsaw Ghetto -- I reviewed that over at Noir Journal, by the way.

Thanks Bob and Kenny! By hook or crook, I ran and got almost all of the 2010 nominated works. You know, readables, not comics and art and those. My TBR is becoming overwhelming.
Bob, that list of winners really takes me back. I think that Paladin of Souls is the only one that I've missed over the years. One surprise to me is that The Gods Themselves was '70's. I thought it was earlier. I owned that book since I was a kid. Thanks again, guys! |
