I am playing nice here....

Well folks, here is an update from my contacts with Bookeen.......

"I have heard nothing".....

I tried both the technical approach as well as approaching the advertising side of the company......

"they completely blanked me".......

So where from here...."Kindle for PC" sound really a good way forward...."price free"....I have a touch screen PC with Windows 7 on it so it really does seem to be the way forward for me....

Maybe as it is Friday 13th we might be lucky and get the firmware today.....but maybe not.

I believe in the Mayan calander predictions so I won't be around in 2013...

Tis quite sad really that we have been waiting for over half a year for this supposed update. After a summer of heavy use my Cybook is gathering dust and waiting for the updates. Now, I am back to my 505. Hope Bookeen comes thru soon.

In the Bookeen blog, scroll down to the next entry about the July show in Paris:

Sadly, Bookeen will not put a flash file for even the 1.4 firmware I have on their web site.

There is an Adobe DRM firmware sold only on Gen3's from Weltbild.de as version 1.9 that also has folder view. With allowances for language obstacles, I interpret Bookeen's reply to my request for this firmware as "we did this as a requirement by Weltbild and they own it."
