The survey link looks to be user specific so they should know who participated via that.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't check that email account very often, so I would've missed this.

I don't have a paid Audible membership and was able to get the book without any problems.

I listened to this one a few months back; it's one of my favorites for the year.

*While supplies last. Redemption codes will be sent out three times a day until they’re gone.

The email says "give us your honest opinions about how you’d like to the future of the group" but the survey doesn't really ask much about the group.
Thanks for posting this. I would've missed it.

No email

Edit to Add: I could not find the email, because I was looking for "Ford" -- a search on Goodreads found the email and I have the audiobook in my account now. Thanks.

NO REDEMPTION CODE Needed for a WS Deal about D-Day, by an Admiral Who Participated!

I'm tweaking a little more--I've added a place for a book description. It's going to be a permanent feature. Should've done that already.

Title: The Far Shore.
Genre: Non-Fiction (History).
Author: Edward Ellsberg.
Price: $6.98 ($2.99 ebook (marked down) + $3.99 Whispersync audio).
Regular Price of Audio, by Itself, at Audible: $24.95.
Ebook Rating/Number of Reviews: 4.4 stars/8 reviews (Amazon); 4.40/10 ratings (GoodReads).
Audio Rating/Number of Ratings: 5.0/1 rating.
Pages/Audio Length: 250/11 hours and 54 minutes.
Narrator: John McLain.
Audible URL: http://www.audible.com/pd/History/Th...8143928&sr=1-1.
Amazon URL (can get the whole Whispersync deal here): http://www.amazon.com/Far-Shore-Edwa...Y14WN4S8EQCC8C.
Comments: The number of ratings is low, no doubt because the book is recently published (November, 2014).
Book Description (Amazon):
The story of the greatest invasion in history, as told by a master military engineer

Thousands of men desperately struggling through the surf, blood spilling into the sea and mud, bullets whizzing by their ears—this is the Far Shore of Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Here, we see D-Day through the eyes of an experienced engineer, brought out of a brief retirement to help make this invasion and eventual Allied victory possible: Rear Admiral Edward Ellsberg.

The final book in Ellsberg’s World War II trilogy,
The Far Shore takes the reader right up to the front lines. In Under the Red Sea Sun and No Banners, No Bugles, Rear Admiral Ellsberg cleaned up impressive wrecks in the Red Sea and North Africa. He answers the call to action despite his advancing age and failing heart, to once again do the impossible. Ellsberg is tasked with floating the artificial harbors that are key to Operation Overlord. Ellsberg, a celebrated writer in addition to his gifts as a naval engineer, pulls no punches in this firsthand account of the preparations and bravery necessary to win on D-day.

Short offer - the book is back to $9.99 when I just looked (frequently more curious about the book offers than the audio partner). Keep up the great postings!

X-link to the DRM-free megathread:

This week's Humble Music Book Bundle includes an Audie Award-winning spoken-word album by the late ground-breaking folksinger Pete Seeger (Wikipedia) which is available at the pay-what-you-want level.

There are also 2 freebie music tracks available for direct download on the bundle page, a storybook-and-accompanying-song readalong track from alternative band They Might Be Giants (Wikipedia) at the $15 top tier, and the rest of the bundle has some fairly nice stuff in it, especially if you like music-related graphic novels and non-fiction (some of them non-fiction graphic novels).

Ack! Well, short for some--it had been $2.99 for a few days, I think. I regret that it wasn't up on Mobileread all that long before the price went up. Your message was posted about 12 hours after my post, though, so maybe there were a few people who were able to take advantage of the deal.

I'm going to try to explore ways to learn how much longer a Kindle ebook is to stay marked down. I know of one thing that I can do, and am going to implement it immediately.

Thanks for your encouraging words.

I'm not complaining - merely telling others. ATDrake's posts frequently don't reach me till the next day, and I miss those too. Oh well! I've still got more books than I could read in multiple lifetimes.

I didn't take it as a complaint. In fact, I gave you some K for the post. It's good to know such things so that the person who posts can try to make adjustments. I rarely go back, myself, to check my posts for stuff like that.

$6.46 Whispersync Deal on Books 1-4 of David Simpson's Post-Human Series.

(Note: GtrsRGr8 ordinarily does not post this kind of material. He does not condone it, he does not read it, and he does not want to encourage anyone else to read it. He is convinced that books of this book's subgenre ("science" fiction), are, at this very moment, frying the brains of countless youths of America, turning them into worthless, unproductive citizens that will remain dependent on others for the rest of their lives. He is convinced that it is a communist plot to turn America into a third-rate (or lower) country. The reason that he is posting it? Information about it was shared with him by one known as "tubemonkey." Tubemonkey has been through some difficult times recently, and GtrsRGr8 is posting this hoping to help cheer him up.) ha.

In all seriousness, thanks to tubemonkey for letting me know about this deal. It's a good one.

As I told tubemonkey, I hope that Mobilereaders (I included tubemonkey in this) are not hesitant to post Whispersync deals, themselves, because I have done it a lot recently. Don't think that this is my exclusive domain--it is not! If you know of a Whispersync deal, please post it!

Author: David Simpson.
Price: $6.46 ($2.99 ebook (marked down) + $3.47 Whispersync audio).

Ebook Rating/Number of Reviews: 4.4 stars/1,491 reviews (Amazon).
