I loaded the sample Kindle Paperwhite 1/2 and that file is detected and shows up. I am running firmware 5.6.5 (2730300038)

Interesting. Install Kindle Previewer and check if file not detected on Kindle work there.

So the book opens and displays fine on the Kindle previewer. But when the same book is loaded onto the E-reader the Kindle still doesn't detected book as being added.

I don't have idea what is wrong. As you can see KCC ouput is not corrupted.

Finally, someone. I need to know everything about your PC. What Windows version you use? What AV? Any third party applications that might interfere with file access?

Strange, Avast anti-virus is freaking out when I try and download KindleComicConverter. It thinks the file is a trojan horse.

This program is safe right?

Avast should be called FalsePositive. It is clean.

I have win 7, malwarebytes premium, i think no other process can block kcc.
If u want more information, tell me.

I'm out of ideas. I never replicated this issue in any environment. But you are not first person with this problem.

Something blocking access to KCC temporary files.

Does maybe a torrent client hold/lock file you're trying to convert? (assumption based on screenshot of the error and path G:\Downloads\Torrents\The Flash\The Flash.cbr)

KCC temporary files are blocked - not source files.

It shouldn't be too hard to find the locking handles. For example with Handle utility from Windows Sysinternals. Something like
handle.exe > log.txt
in command prompt.
