I just finished The Surgeon and it is very good. Definitely worth a read if you like a good mystery.

I also downloaded that from Sony, after checking on reader reviews from Amazon, and it got some very high marks. The plot sounds interesting, too.

I read about 4 or 5 screens and had to force myself NOT to read it because I was currently reading 5 other books, one of them being Proust.

Probably one of my most reread book as well as I'll usually start rereading it just before a new book comes out which features the city watch.

The book I currently wish I could start (as per the corrupted wish thread) is Swann's Way (and the rest). Unfortunately, I keep getting caught up on MR during my normal reading time (just before sleep). I haven't read a book in weeks!

Pegasus in Flight, by Anne McCaffrey. Somehow I'd missed it earlier. Pretty good. I did like To Ride Pegasus and Get Off the Unicorn, but I'd read one of the other, later "Talent" books and been kind of indifferent, so I hadn't read this one. I think there are several others I also haven't read. Perhaps I'll check out another one after this.

Although I had already read this book, I took advantage of the free copy from Amazon. Over time, I might (or might not) get more of the series in electronic format. Since these weren't "keepers" for me, the price would really have to be right, though.

I'm currently reading:
  • Finders Keepers by Linnea Sinclair (Mass Market PB)
  • Daughter of the Sun by Barbara Wood (Trade PB)
  • Storm Killer by Benjamin Blue (Kindle)
  • High Noon by Nora Roberts (Unabridged audio)

My problem is finding enough hours in the week to get a sufficient amount of reading done! I need some more road trips.

Pegasus in Flight is a good one as is its sequel Pegasus in Space, which follows the same cast of characters, so may be considered a two part mini series.

I have to say that of all the Talent Series Fligh and Space are my favourites, but reading them did make me appreciate the Tower & the Hive series more.

Now reading Pegasus in Space. Enjoying it so far, though I'm kind of bored with McCaffrey's matchmaking tendencies (particularly when adults have precogs about marrying children after they're grown....)

Have to agree that that Sasha and Trila's relationship is one of my least favourite parts of the books, but then again I can always sjip past the most cheesy when I reread

I think I particularly noticed it since I'd just re-read Get Off the Unicorn, and one of the stories has a similar (if less extreme) relationship. The relationship between Rhyssa and Dave was at least more believable, as it developed over time, though part of my problem is that I'm kind of bored with romance overall.

I'm reading a Shell Scott detective novel, by Richard S. Prather who died last year.

I discovered these in the mid-60s and loved them. There are over 40 Shell Scott novels and they are more fun now than when I was a teenager.

I can highly recommend these. They are well-plotted, with great description and great action.

Fictionwise has - almost - the entire set, but almost all of them are $7.64 each and that's with my membership.
