It's been a wild day today in NC - tornadoes & storms & wind. Most of the damage occurred around the Sanford & Fayetteville areas - where an entire Lowes store was flattened (but no one killed). SE Raleigh also had tornadoes too.

We just got tremendous storms & wind here - still clocking in now at 30 mph or so. We were lucky!

It even made the news here!

The world has gone mad. More earthquakes in Oz and NZ and Japang. (Was talking to boss/best friend on phone a few minutes ago in remote NT and she was feeling a tremor then. Tornados in the US. A VERY extended and VERY wet in the top end of OZ.

What have we all done to displease the gods?

WOW! I didn't see any news yesterday after the morning news, when the storms had weakened to just rain. This is a bad surprise! I am happy that you are safe!

Now I need to check Facebook and see if my niece in Raleigh is OK. She and her husband live on the college campus. No trouble there, I hope?

Such a beautiful city! We spent most of a week there last fall, and it was wonderful. I hope that someday - before it becomes completely overrun by tourists - we will get to go back for an extended stay. I could definitely enjoy a month going to the Secheni Spa every day!

Yeah - we all got surprised - rain all morning, then it stopped - and then the storms blew up in the afternoon - blamed on the jet stream feeding energy into the atmosphere.

I don't think the NCSU campus was affected.
