Right, so I guess I'll have to take over. I'm working on 750ml of water with teisseire right now. It's a grenadine syrup, but a light version. Tastes very good. But I'm considering buying another kind of teisseire, because I'm starting to get fed up with this one. Maybe I'll buy a couple and mix them up a bit. And then later on, I'll have a cup of Lipton green tea citrus. It doesn't taste very good but I'll drink it anyway because that's the only kind of tea I have at the office right now. ![]() ![]() ![]() I think we can conclude that I'm better at being the strong, silent type as well ... Fine, how are you Anh ? |

If you think school is exhausting, wait untill you start your life as a worker bee. You don't know how good your life is when you're in school until you're no longer in school ... That being said, I don't miss school. At all. Only the holidays

In my cup: Rooibos vanilla, pot one. I had two pots of Rooibos Carmel Cream at home.
I went straight from high school to college and college to a PhD program. I started at my first non-academic job when I was 31. I remember being very lethargic and bummed for some unknown reason around July of that year. I was talking to a friend when I realized it was my first year without a long summer vacation. Don't get me wrong, I worked during those vacations. I had jobs to save money for the school year when I was an undergrad and I taught summer classes when I was in grad school but I still had a certain level of freedom that a 9-5 job just does not provide. It took a while for me to adjust. The First Christmas was hard as well. I normally got home early enough to pick out the Christmas tree with my Dad. I have not been able to do that since I started a regular job. |

![]() But I see your point. I 'only' spend 16 years in school (elementary school, highschool and then university). I started working at 22, straight after university. It's been 2 years, and I still haven't completely adjusted to the working rhythm. Last edited by Iridal; 02-24-2011 at 09:29 AM. |

My Dad and always had fun picking out the tree. Mom would tell us what size she wanted and admonish us not to get something too large. We would smile, nod, and chuckle because we all knew that we were going to come home with something about three feet bigger then what Mom wanted. We would get the tree up. I would help Mom pull out the ornaments and village stuff. When my Brother had his kids, they would come over and we would decorate the tree.
It was a fun, fun ritual. Classes were done so I did not need to study. I would bring home reading and research for the dissertation and ignore it. (Grins) Now Mom has decided that she doesn't like cleaning up after the Christmas tree and has bought a fake tree. Dad brings in a small real tree each year but it is one of those minis. The house looks wonderful but I miss the ritual. |

![]() but I seriously don't think that the life of a 12th grader is any happier than that of a worker bee ![]() - "What's wrong with the youth?? Our education system needs a reform" Yeah, something like that would be on the first page. Many people think that university is the only way to go after graduation from high school. So there is over 1 mil of students and people apply for the entrance test every year. Therefore the test must be difficult to kick 85% of them out of the university gate. I should post this in the vent & rant thread, shouldn't I? |

I think I prefer the US system for attending college. It seems more civilized. I think that it would be nice if our high school students worked harder but I would guess that the kids taking a full load of Advanced Placement classes in the US are the equivalent of the kids who manage to get into University in systems like your.

I'm back! I'll be posting from my phone for a few days though so I may be kind of quiet but I'm here! I'm recovering from surgery here at my mom's house and she has no internet service.

Thanks for the good wishes everybody! Glad to be back!
Might be TMI but it's too hard to fool with spoiler tags on this phone, so - unexpected hysterectomy. It went fine though. Two nights in the hospital so I was ready to leave so I could get some rest. ![]() |
