I can't find libpng in Koreader, I thought it was a part of cr3?
http://code.google.com/p/kobohack-j/...ba3347338bd8ee This looks interesting for .svg http://sourceforge.net/p/svg2swf/libsvg/ci/master/tree/ Now that we have a 16 bit depth buffer working, things could get interesting. Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 12-01-2013 at 09:52 PM. |

two questions on dictionaries
wonder if anyone can shed light on the following:
1. dictionaries (and highlights) seem to work in pdf but not in epubs, is this to be expected? 2. I have an Italian stardict dictionary, with ocr and all relevant files installed, but I cannot get it to work: I can't highlight a single word, if I long press a whole line is selected. Could there be something wrong with the tessdata file, or does anybody have other pointers please? The stardict dictionary comes from here, while the ocr file comes from here (both links legit as far as I know). |

But then the Italian dictionary in pdf documents should work, right? |

Yes.
You can check the validity of your dictionary, decompile it to a txt-file, edit and recompile it with stardict editor. That program is included with stardict for windows. I've tried a lot of programs, but for stardict dictionary handling this seems to be the simplest around. Currently I have a durch-german, german, english, french-english, latin and ancient greek dictionary installed. |

Build 669 doesn't use the -STOP and -CONT switches in the koreader_kobo.sh script, don't see why as Hawhill's changes work. I just saved my old pre-build 669 koreader_kobo.sh file and replaced the new one after copying over the new koreader folder. It seems to be working fine and I can return to Nickel without rebooting. Did someone just miss updating the koreader_kobo.sh file? Or was there some reason it was not considered a good idea?

I just never tested myself and thus did not introduce this change. Will do.

In my koreader_kobo.sh I also added stop/cont for Hindenburg next to Nickel.

I did a plain killall for adobehost and dbus-daemon, as well as running "exec 3<&-" to close all files open for writing. Also: "./reader.lua /mnt/sd/.Koreader/Books 1> koreader.log.`date +%s` 2>&1" To have File Manager open at the start of my ebook library. I keep this script on my desktop so it is easy to use it to replace whatever comes in the nightly builds. Luck; Ken It looks like Hindenburg is Kobo's Web Browser, so I guess I'll kill that as well, not that anything I do within Nickel should have started it. THX /Quote That is his “koreader_kobo.sh” Just make a copy of your existing one and make it match his ( except change the location he has as an argument being passed to, reader.lua and use the location of your ebook library. He has his library on his external SD card, behind a hidden folder named ".Library".) Having your library behind a hidden folder keeps the ebook files from being processed by Kobo. You should use a HexEditor to make sure there are no 0B (carriage returns) in the file and that the lines end in 0A (Linefeed). Or just use "Notepad++" set for Linux/Unix line endings. [notepad++ is great for reading any script files as it preserves the formatting, where as windows notepad doesn't.] If you want to make a hidden folder using windows just name the folder with a dot/period both in front and behind the name (like: .Books.) the dot behind will disappear and you will have a Linux hidden folder with the leading dot (.books) that Kobo will not try to process. Luck; Ken Oh, I notice he also mentions -STOP ing Hindenburg as well, I'll edit the above to include that. Last edited by Ken Maltby; 12-03-2013 at 12:10 PM. |

Ah, so that's how I could be done from explorer. I just open a command prompt and type "md .Libary"
I thought that it would probably be a good idea to finish off with an "exec 3<&-", too. I find that sometimes highlights an such are not saved. Last edited by Markismus; 12-03-2013 at 11:57 AM. |

Command Prompt ... I remember those! I think the current generation might think we were talking about something like: "Don't forget to take the garbage out!" Luck; Ken |

Somehow my changes to lua-files don't work. When I telnet into my Aura over wireless I see an older version of "input.lua"
I keep getting "can't create koreader.log: Read-only file system cp: can't create 'ev.log': Read-only file system" I had this problem a few days ago, too. Anyone knows how to get rid of it? UPDATE: Apparently, the filesystem was corrupt, more precisely "input.lua". Last edited by Markismus; 12-03-2013 at 01:54 PM. |
