Perhaps around 3PM it could become 4PM. Quitting time an hour early... I like it?

Then they could add back an hour Monday morning so (say at 9AM) you get to sleep late.

same here, actually even closer to 4. I can deal with it being dark in the mornings, but in the afternoon it truly sucks. makes it hard to do any work outside in the winter when I am working.

bah! that's nothing! I used to have to go into banks after hours, drop ALL of their communications, replace them with VOIP, upgrade their routers with new chips, replace the power supply, program it, verify it, clean up, and be out before start of business the next day

no kidding huh? I did that for a year and a half... flew to a different city, and did 4 branches of one of the bigger banks (they are actually still in existence!), monday thru Thursday, flew out Fridays unless there was a problem (I never had a problem, some of the GUYS did though!). my training week we were lucky to get out by opening time the next morning. by the time I rotated off of that contract I was finishing up by 11pm most times. in time to hit the bars!!! (and those damn power supplies weigh 110 pounds!!!! some of the old branches don't have elevators!!!!)
