Good luck to you, deb, and a speedy recovery! I donʻt want to get rid of any parts. One surgery in a lifetime is enough for me. I hope fate agrees. (and I realize my good thoughts are for an event a few weeks in the future, but it canʻt be bad to think good thoughts already, can it, badgood?)

Vcat, give your dad my best wishes as well! Keep his lisseuse (I know I spelled that wrong, but Iʻm much too lazy to look it up) fully stocked and his pain meds intact. Soccer is an excellent sport, Iʻm sorry he has experienced the downside. Tell him not to be such a hotshot :P

Oh, poor Yvan!
Do send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
As soon as he's out of pain and convalescing, give him something to write with. That man has a real ability for the written word. I'd read him. Even in French, if necessary.

I wish you a speedy recovery, Deb. <The lounging around part (with drugs) is kinda nice for the first few days.> Make sure you let us know when you will be gone, so we don't worry too much.

Oh, no! Tell your dad we are thinking of him and hope that all went well in the surgery. Let us know how he is doing, Vcat.

Tell him the ChickenBorg can build him a new replacement leg. Of course it will be made out of titanium steel alloy and need a battery.
I read that before I left, so I told him, he found it hilarious (big belly laugh). Thanks!

Good luck, dear, I hope it goes all right.

So right now dad is still in an emergency corridor, waiting for the surgery that should be tonight or tomorrow. He's been fasting for almost 24 hours, and there is no way for him to drink or eat before the surgery he's waiting to undergo *eventually* (fridgin' health system). His leg is broken a little over the ankle, and he will need to have metal plates screwed in there... they say that he will have to stay hospitalized for a day or two after the surgery, so he won't be back for 2-3 days. His Sony is almost out of battery, but he can't really read since he's exhausted, the lines wiggle in front of his eyes. He says hi to all and is happy to have your good wishes. He looked much more healthy than my mom, actually...

that's just CRIMINAL!!! to be in pain like that and denied food and water for so long!!! I understand waiting because of anesthesia, but this is HORRENDOUS!!!! you hyper-ventilate when you are in pain thus requiring MUCH more fluid!!!

and they say OUR system is broken!!!

Oh, he had an intraveinous apport of fluid, so it wasn't that bad, I think... but I kind of brought him chocolate, so I fear I made the matter worse.

Anywho, when I wrote last, he was already in surgery, he is now out. Apparently everything went well.

Thanks everyone for your wishes, he'll be very happy, and it warms my heart too!

Ahhh - all the best for your Dad. Wish him speedy recovery without too much pain / discomfort.

Glad he had the surgery and that all went well. Plenty of time for him to work through the TBR list and keep us entertain :-).
